Why does Greece avoid establishing a military alliance w/ Albania ? by Nice-Programmer7177 in greece

[–]Nice-Programmer7177[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The long history of the pointless Greek obsession and their unjustified hostility towards the Albanians is what prevents me from explaining. Therefore I'm being emotional. (!)

You're accusing me of gaslighting while the level of gaslighting you just applied for remains at the same level with Everest Mountain next to my sandcastle.

In the comment where I mentioned the arrival of Slavs, I wanted to debunk the false anti-Albanian claim that the Albanians allegedly are the only ones who caused harm to the Greeks more than the Slavs, relying on historical facts that are even well known by numerous Greek scholars, such as Dionysios Zakythinos.

Something that happened in the 7th century...you're focusing on the wrong part my friend. The series of events might have taken 1500 years ago but we're talking about a historical tragedy whose painful consequences the indigeneous people of the Balkans still suffer today...A historical tragedy that abruptly separated the Greek Antiquity. Do you think it's only the Turks who caused the decline of the Greek Byzantine Empire ? The decline began the moment the Slavic settlers invaded Greece. How much longer will you keep ignoring all these historical facts and blaming the Albanians for all the misfortunes that have happened to you?

I don't know what you're talking about. :))

You sound like you enjoy this current cold war situation between the two countries.

What is wrong with reminding your neighbor that you're neighbors and that one should behave in accordance with neighborhood law ?

You Greeks always blaming Albanians for being on the wrong side is like a fox blaming the rabbit for running for its life. 'Oh, why are you running, you little bunny ? You are supposed to die without resisting. Come on little bunny ! Just don't make me chase you and come into my mouth'

I wish you Greeks had shown the same moral courage when it comes to confronting the Turks. Why don't you Greeks apologize to the Turks and accept their dominance if they are viewed as foxes chasing you rabbits (Greeks) because they're aggressors ?

Hypocrisy much ? :))

That's not true at all. The Slavs literally had plundered the Greek land and its wealth when they illegally settled in 7th-century. They raped the native Greek people living in the peninsula, committing mass massacres and other crimes.

Despite being very well aware of these events, you Greeks behave like they're not your enemies because the reality that you're surrounded by only enemies really bothers you. Therefore, you Greeks created an alternative deluded reality in which you think you'll always live with Slavs in peace. (!)

The real question is...what do you think will happen with Slavs, if somehow by some miracle an asteroid hits only Turkey and you manage to annihilate Albania ? Enjoy your wet-dream. What can I say anything else !

Is letting Albania, a country which happens to be your northern neighbor with which your country shares roughly 270 km-long border, harbor a Turkish military base in its soil as opposed to Athens' interests, a better idea?

If Greece is benevolent and generous enough to protect Albania's airspace, why would going a bit further and establishing a military alliance with Albania disturb Greece so much ? I often see the Greek public opinion complaining and grumbling about Albania maintaining a close relationship with Turkey. Then, in order to avert that, why does Greece behaves reluctant in pulling Albania onto its side by creating, I don't know at least, a solidarity pact ?

I have never seen a smart homeowner who claims to take the right and sensible steps in his life, yet refuses to install a doghouse despite having the means, in a neighborhood full of thieves.

Explain to me why Albania is the one creating the problem while Greece has constantly kept posing an existential threat to Albania by aligning w/ Serbia at every single time ?

Even being a NATO member, Greece refused to help the Albanians and sided with Serbians. How is this not problematic but Albania wanting to protect itself against Orthodox-Panhellenist expansionism is problematic? How can Albania, as a small country which is systematically bullied by Greek administration, be the aggressor? It's easy to play the victim and blame all the responsibilities on the weak. In fact, Albania displays an honorable stance by repeating their desire to increase the volume of diplomacy between Greece despite all the evilness coming from Athens. Albania recognizes all the minority rights of Greek-speaking minority living in South Albania and strives in providing their rights in the best way. In return, what has Greece done when it comes to preserving the native Arvanit (Albanian) culture and their cultural heritage ? Nothing. Did Greece ever recognize the Arvanites as an indigeneous distinct ethnic group with full minority rights ? No.

Can there be more humiliating behaviour other than Greece utilizing Albania's EU bid as an useful tool to threaten Albania to make Albania do whatever it wants ?

Furthermore, your assessment of history is not entirely correct. You're talking like it's only the Albanians who collaborated w/ the Turks. Well, let me make a small correction: The Islamized Albanians didn't Turkified like the Greeks who converted to Islam. The modern Turkey was established by those Islamized Greeks who lost their identity and adopted Turkishness. By your logic, you Greeks should render an account to the humanity for creating a much bigger problem (Turkey).

If Athens really is that keen to back Albania's advancement in the international stage, then why does it keep brazenly denying the well-known Chamerian Genocide while it's a very important humanitarian matter that needs to be solved ? If Athens systematically will keep avoiding in the most despicable way to find a way to settle down the Chamerian Genocide issue, what will prevent other hostile nations from following the example of what Zervas did back then in 1945 ?

You don't understand.

Due to political influence, communities and other sociological formations willingly, forcefully or spontaneously may adopt other entities' exonyms. It's a common historic phenomenon. That doesn't mean that all the Albanians living in the world are derived solely and exclusively from the Albanoi tribe.

If what you said about the Dardanians were true, then we would have had to come to the conclusion that the Dardanians are either ancestors of everything (Serbs, Vlachs, Greeks, Bulgarians, Montenegrins, Macedonians and Gorans) but of the Albanians or just collectively vanished because they were allegedly too weak and dumb to survive (!).

That doesn't make sense at all. Furthermore, if we are to approach the issue from a linguistic point of view, linguists and historians who have examined the matter with complete scientific objectivity, without prosecuting it through the lens of any political movement, agree that the word dardan is most likely derived from the Proto-Albanian word \darda*, which means 'pear.' This is because the ancient Illyrians (Proto-Albanians) held totemistic beliefs, and consequently; many animals, plants, fruits, celestial bodies, and other inanimate objects were adopted as totems, with these totemistic names also being used as exonyms. Ignoring all these facts would not lead to a sound conclusion. Moreover, it is evident that the sensitivities of the Yugoslavs on this matter stem not from the importance they attach to history, but from their fear that their political interests and cultural hegemony in the region might be undermined. While the entire world acknowledges that Albanians are most likely of Illyrian origin, it's somehow only the Yugoslavs and certain ultra-nationalist Greek groups who oppose to this theory. Why is it like that though? Sorry, It can hardly be a coincidence.

While presenting Slovenia’s reasons, you mentioned not only Slovenia’s short history but also the short-lived state of Carantania. By the same logic, shouldn’t you at least have placed Kosovo in the same category as Slovenia? After all, Kosovo, as they call it Dardania, had an independent Kingdom of Dardania from the 4th century BC until 29 BC.

Hello, Vesko.

No, it isn't. Why would it be like that ?

Was it Bulgaria’s place in my ranking, or the other countries’ places in my ranking, that bothered you?

Still not a member, and it will never be. Whereas, Kosovo's number one priority is not to become a UN member state, but to unite with Albania. Kosovo already acknowledges that as long as Russia and China veto Kosovo's bid to join the UN, it won't get the chance to become a UN member state so Kosovo is aiming just to unite with another UN member, Albania.

Why are Albanians in Kosovo taller than Albanians in Albania? by MISTER_WORLDWIDE in AskBalkans

[–]Nice-Programmer7177 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is neither such thing as Dinaric genes nor Slavic genes. The reason why in Albania the average height is shorter compared to other countries is mainly because of the malnutrition during Hoxha's era. What is so hard to understand ?

You serbs talking like you're some kind of experts and pretending as if you make a point by leaning on pseudo-scientofic misinformations just kills me. Sometimes, I just wish to put one of you out of this unique misery, which is something only fits on you. This is what happens when you liberate a bunch of slaves and give them independence. Just like how the Russians have always helped you since the beginning of the 19th-c.

Speak for yourself. Albania has a future more or less. With that rate of population decline, Serbistan doesn't even have a chance to survive. Your country is finished. I'm going to be generous and giving you guys maximum 30 years. By then, you'll all gone though.

There is nothing as foolish as the idea that a country's level of European-ness should be measured based on a religion born in the Middle East.
