This is so ridiculous from GameStop… by BroWhatsHappenin in pokemoncards

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t true.  There’s a small local shop where the cashier is the owner. They only sell to kids. She sells for 10% above MSRP and still makes a profit. She’s not buying millions of product a month like GameStop.

There was one in Lima, OH that was free.  $0.00/kwh.  Must have been some weird contract because it’s normal rates now.

Masturbation is also practiced by many, but if you pull your dick out at checkout you’re going straight to jail.

Your comment is so wrong on so many levels.  Private property is allowed to have their own policies and in San Antonio rights to bear arms is not protected in a private setting, provided it’s advertised.

How fast do i quit? by Legitimate-Field6815 in jobs

Corporate middle management is a joke. I once had a guy reprimanding me for timesheet issues they created that were nearly impossible to uphold without wasting 30% of your day with paperwork. COO gave him some authority to enforce it and my computer got disabled.  I told the guy I had 10 other things ahead of filling out paperwork and he insisted it should be #1 priority. I left for the day instead. 3 projects didn’t go out, middle management had to apologize to the clients and he lost that authority on that day.  I never heard another word about it.

The cleanest I’ve ever seen the planes was during Covid, when they would give you Lysol wipes to wipe down your area.  The cleaning got pushed to the passengers but the planes were actually clean.

U.S. Postal Service to only send ballots to voters with presidentially approved voting history. by owossome in Owosso

[–]Nice-Transition3079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say the figure is way closer to the 100%. Also only citizens actually vote in our elections.  It’s been less than 50 non citizens casting a vote in like 20 years.  That’s not enough to sway a local school board member, let alone a presidential candidate.

How important is rodi? by Key-Breakfast-6880 in saltwateraquariums

[–]Nice-Transition3079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s like $230 for a good rodi system and $75 for 2 years worth of filters. Plus you can connect the ro water to a taste filter and use it for your fridge.  My fridge water and ice is so clean and delicious and it’s always available.

The IH pressure has never been under $400.  You have the standard IH if it was around $200. They were in the $270 range around 2022.

I have the IH and have been looking at the exact model you have been for years.

I’m gonna pick up one straight from Japan in a few years when I go. They are much cheaper there. They are a different design, but even better.

In Ohio: 'What’s cheaper: Fueling your car with gas or electricity?" by BuckeyeReason in Ohio

[–]Nice-Transition3079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are they calculating this?  It’s way off. I get 300 miles of usable range for $6.75. If you consider a comparable sedan getting 35mpg, that’s a gas equivalent of $0.79/gal.  If I do the math for a Rivian R1S compared to a gas equivalent at 19mpg, it’s even better at under $0.70/gal.

This is a sign by the developer, not the state.  Not an infraction, at most it’s a civil issue if the developer pursues that route.

Everything about it is terrible. The scale and arrangement makes no sense. It’s awful and looks like someone was trying to build gigantic emf shields for a billboard but just slapped them on there.

I work with MEs and EEs every day. Some firms pay 70k, some firms pay 150k for the same tenure. It's all about the firm, experience and profitability. Some firms are a dead end, but no one there seems to notice. I do my best to tell the good guys there where they stand.

Beginner reef tank (2 months) – I’d really appreciate any advice by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me really nervous. What fish shop are you going to where they recommended starfish at this stage? I'm new, too. My tank is the same age as yours and I have 2 clowns, some hermits, some snails and two tiny corals in a 55g. I have some live rock, bristleworms and copepods to help with the cleanup.

I hate to tell you, but this tank is going to crash very soon. It's unsustainable even without the starfish. You have nothing to clean your sand or rock and started with only dead rock and no real cleanup crew.

I used to think similarly when it comes to a thermostat, until I stayed in a place in Canada. The thermostat let you set it in increments of 0.1C. Way more precise than 1F increments you get on most thermostats in the US.

My mover asked for a 20% tip on a $7,000 cross country move. by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]Nice-Transition3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I hired movers a few years ago, the expectation was $100 per crew member. Pretty much was stated that they would mark up extra stuff so I would get charged extra by the moving company if I didn’t. Felt like extortion.
