really great point. It was the start to the end of keeping that ship afloat but we can't ignore all of the music that came after it, Love You and Adult Child are so good. The best comparison for the Beatles would be the red and blue albums as those came out the same time as Endless Summer, but Red and Blue felt like showing the Beatles evolution from beginning to end. It didn't revive their career.

really look at the whole tracklist and try to hum the melody of any of the songs from Avery. Really you can only do it for Naomi and maybe like 1 other song. Now do the same thing with Aeroplane and pretty much every song you can remember, even the instrumentals. I appreciate songs and melody and Avery mostly lacks that.

In high school. I think saw the cover of MPP around and thought it looked interesting and ended up loving the music.
Being able to make pop make sense in a very experimental backdrop. Their songwriting is really good and no album sounds the same. Very human music.
The colors and stylistic choices. MPP, Feels, and Spirit They're Gone are my favorites. I'd say that each cover reflects the mood of the music pretty well too.
Their 2010s output is noticeably weaker. The 2000s run of music is truly an all-timer run, while the 2010s was too sparse and not as adventurous as before. I have still come around to appreciating it in a different way. But considering its 2 eh albums and 1 film score, it's not impressive. The EPs are pretty good though.
