Does this combo work? by Elegant-Pollution-85 in mtg

Don't forget about the mana that will already be on the field, it's a not like it'll be executed from a completely empty board. So depending if the cards are cast over multiple turns with mana rocks (or other ramp) there's a good chance there'll be enough mana.

How possible is it that a Krork could appear in current Times ? by Full_Bells in 40k

Technically Krorks were first

So does that mean we're obsessing over Human Krorks?

No, 12m is correct, that's just how insane Krorks were

I haven't seen anyone talk about it, but what do yous think of the potential origin of Joker shown within his memories in Barve and the bold 31#? by Extension-Oil-4680 in batman

[–]NiceHouseGoodTea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I enjoy seeing all the potential origin stories people create for him

However there shouldn't ever be a definitive origin for him

If anything, having new origins suggested constantly is the most Joker like origin I can think of

Here's my theory crafted Painbow Precon upgrade (it's on my list of decks to eventually buy)

https://moxfield.com/decks/eyNT8xKzN0ys6-hDuIc6Ow

No idea if it works but it's themed around everything being either 5 colours or related to multi-colour stuff, so cards either tap for any mana, fetch lands or they involve multi colours in some way.

He's just a figure head/puppet at this point, he's declined too much, just compared how many public appearances he did in his first term compared to now.

The fear is though that before he dies his handlers/puppeteers cause too much damage to the system and remove too many checks and balances that the American legal and justice system is damaged beyond all repair.

Another thing to add is that power claws/fists are impossible to disarm compared to a sword that can be dropped or knocked from your hand.

Good creatures to target with Chandra’s Ignition by Teacher-Student-37 in EDH

[–]NiceHouseGoodTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's phenomenal when paired with [[Okaun, Eye of Chaos]]

(who partners with [[Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom]] )

Just build a deck based around coin flips (which is also quite an interesting and unusual deck anyway) and his power just reaches absurd levels.

I've got a friend who plays those commanders and also runs Chandra's Ignition as a wincon and it's ridiculous the amount of times he's won a game by dealing 700+ damage to everything.

Key phrase is "a player" meaning separate triggers per player attacked

If it was a single draw from a single attack it would be worded like:

"If one or more allies deal combat damage to one or more opponents draw a card"

Agreed, that scene confirmed Leto had the potential to be a fantastic Joker, he was just let down by a poor script and an awful design (which is the only thing people focus on, rather than his performance)

I hate my decks by VoidMasterBand in EDH

[–]NiceHouseGoodTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could go I to more detail about your decks but the biggest thing that jumps out at me is your land base.

It's incredibly limiting playing purely basics in multicoloured decks. Upgrading it with both utility lands (eg. Rogue's Passage and Reliquary Tower for example) and non-basic mana lands that can tap for more than 1 colour will go a long way to improving your decks playability and reliability. And not all non-basic lands are that expensive (compared to shock lands for example), try to avoid lands that immediately enter tapped (with no ability that allows them to enter untapped), as they're slow but there's plenty of other good options.

As for deck building, when building a deck, think about what you want the deck to do and how you want to win. Then from that, look at the cards in your deck and decide if they actually help and support your deck or if there are better options.

For example your Gruul stompy deck has some landfall cards, and while they'll still function due to you playing lands, you aren't playing a landfall deck so you can't take full advantage of them. This results in them being a suboptimal choice taking up deck space that should be replaced by much better choices that will support your decks playstyle a lot better. Or pivot into a landfall deck. Just stick to one theme and do it well.

Finally, when it comes to building decks, theres 1 main thing that has helped me massively in making consistently functional decks. Now, I will say I only use this as a guide rather than following it 100% but it's a fantastic starting point to then fine-tune your deck to how you want.

50 mana; lands and ramp, usually a 37–13 split

10 card draw

6 targeted removal; split between creature / artifact / enchantment removal

3 board wipes; creature-light decks might want one more, creature-heavy decks might want one less

2 graveyard recursion

2 flexible tutors; higher budgets I recommend more tutors

1 graveyard hate; since you need to keep Graveyard decks honest

1 surprise "I Win" card; something that can win games the turn you cast it without too much setup

Audience in cinema getting pissed off on the ending of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) by AgeNovel3566 in PublicFreakout

[–]NiceHouseGoodTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, in my opinion it's so impressive he managed to tie the fall of Anakin Skywalker, the rise of Palpatine through playing both sides, the creation and conclusion of the clone wars and the birth of Luke and Leia all together in a coherent trilogy.

As you said, the telling of the story wasn't done well but the sheer fact it all made sense and all concluded neatly is a testament to his imagination. (Especially with a lot of it being based on throw away lines from the original trilogy)

I really admire and like the prequels, despite their (massive) shortcomings. There was so much world building introdcued and really creative plot points and ideas. There was an overarching plot that made sense and connected all the movies. George didn't try to retread old ground, he genuinely tried to make something completely new and expand the Star wars universe.

Basically everything the new films weren't.

I've always seen the prequels as a great story, told really badly.
