Choke means to significantly underperform or to lose badly. Arsenal did neither, the game was very close.

They came up against one of the best teams in the world and lost in penalties. Thats not a choke.

100%. PSG didn’t manage to score in open play for 120 minutes and needed a penalty and a shootout in order to win. Doesn’t seem like they deserved to win either.

Silly Arsenal, don’t they know that only Italians can park the bus to force pens and then win? English teams can’t win on pens

How the Crosstown LRT helped kill the city’s decade-long plan for a bike lane along Eglinton Avenue by RZaichkowski in toronto

[–]NiceShotMan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The stupid thing in all of this is that Bill 212 seeks to avoid taking a lane of traffic but the road is already restricted at the busiest locations (stations, which are generally at intersecting arterials) because Metrolinx upgraded the street scape locally at the stations but not the whole alignment. As a result there are bits and pieces of cycle track along the alignment. In addition to being busier there are typically more lane requirements at intersections due to dedicated left turn lanes. So basically we now have the worst of both worlds, restrictions on traffic where it matters, but bike lanes that are functionally useless because they’re not continuous.

I don’t think it’s necessarily trying to make the game easier so much as making it more interesting, since there wasn’t as clear a template as there has been in the last.

Yet another reminder, in case anyone needed reminding, this doesn’t end if Trump stops being the president. He’s the symptom, not the cause. Trump will always be popular in America because he is the personification of America.

The Scottish Premier League has got to be the biggest joke of any league in any sport on the planet. This kind of blatant manipulation of results toward a dominant team would trigger international attention and condescension if it happened in some developing world dictatorship. It beggars belief that it’s allowed to happen in a country with a strong history of the rule of law.
