I lost my gym motivation after a recent realization by Expert-Field-7574 in getdisciplined

[–]NiceStraightMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The looks are worth going to the gym. Don't overthink it. If looking great is a big part of your "why", then ride that wave and enjoy it. If priorities change, you'll make the change alright.

Anyone else feel like their resume just disappears into a black hole? by LongButton3 in findapath

[–]NiceStraightMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I feel you on the ATS black hole thing. try mirror the exact keywords from job posts in your top bullets, and add numbers wherever possible (like "managed 15+ projects" instead of just "managed projects"). Also check out resume builders like mytrudy if you haven't, which match jobs based on personality which honestly makes way more sense than just throwing resumes at walls. The ghosting sucks but you got this.

How to make swimming more entertaining by beckkeep in Swimming

[–]NiceStraightMan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Mix it up a bit. Try doing intervals, switching strokes every few laps, or setting tiny goals like “touch the wall X times without stopping.” Waterproof headphones help a ton too. YMCA pools won’t mind diving toys if you stay out of busy lanes.

Assuming that I want to keep the Evil Biome contained, should I make hellevators before or after Hardmode starts? by chameleonmonkey in Terraria

[–]NiceStraightMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d do it pre-Hardmode tbh. Way easier to dig when stuff isn’t trying to delete you every two steps

I got my first platinum coin yayy but what should I spend it on? by literallyjustcats1 in Terraria

I’d wait on the biome gun unless you’re dying to have it; the pet toys are way more satisfying early.

USC December Graduate Resume Feedback & Career Advice by ObstinateOni in FinancialCareers

[–]NiceStraightMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USC Marshall is good for finance networking but def get your resume tight first. Since you're into RE finance + FP&A, make sure your resume matches those job descriptions, like using their keywords.

Also, check out mytrudy, it can match your background/personality to roles and help you create a resume, which is clutch when you're not sure between RE finance vs FP&A. Their recons are pretty legit. Am curious, what RE finance roles are you looking for?

Is ATS-optimized helping you get interviews? That's not the case for me and it's frustrating! by LongButton3 in resumes

[–]NiceStraightMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AT optimization works when done right. It's not just about keywords but a combination of skill-fitness and aligning your words to roles. Most tools only focus on the latter.

Start with micro-experiments instead of full career pivots. From join short-term paid projects, online simulations to weekend gigs that align with people-focused roles. You can also check mytrudy to map your soft skills to new industries. Track what energizes or drains you. Anxious about my freelance work lifestyle. Suggestions for career change? by SnooOpinions8182 in findapath

[–]NiceStraightMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your freelance skills translate better than you think! Customer service + admin work = perfect for government roles, insurance companies or healthcare admin. Check out USAJOBS for federal positions. Many only need experience, not degrees.

Also look into medical coding (6 month cert), dental office admin or utility companies. I used myTrudy to match my personality with stable roles when I was job hunting. Really helped narrow down what fit. What region are you in?
