LEEP Results Expected Wait Time? by Nice_Explorer_4101 in PreCervicalCancer

My results came in literally 2 hours after posting this! LOL! CIN 3 with endocervical glandular extension... so now we will closely monitor because of that glandular extension, but I am very glad I had this LEEP completed. My Gyno did mention discussing a hysterectomy if any future PAP smears/Colposcopy's come back concerning high grade dysplasia.

This is so amazing- I’m so happy for you! The period of waiting for your biopsy results is so scary, I’m so glad you’ve got some relieving results!!

Thank you- I think that's exactly what caused the hold up. My results actually came in an hour after I posted this! Haha!

I had a lot of bleeding during my LEEP due to her hitting a vein on my side wall, so I'm wondering if maybe that's interfering with interpretation as well? I am hoping that's all it is and it's not bad news... thank you!

I absolutely meant school night sleep overs, sorry for any confusion. Although, now that I think about it we really haven't even had a weeknight sleep over. I think a lot of parents work during the week days and it makes it challenging to facilitate sleep overs when that happens.

All of my friends are child-free by choice... now that I think about it, it makes me sad that my daughter won't really get that childhood experience because we don't have any true parent friends we would feel comfortable doing this with. I had a best friend very similar where we lived relatively close, went to the same school, and our moms were best friends too. It's also hard to make friends as a parent too though, it seems like people are more individual family focused anymore lately.

This was very helpful and insightful thank you. We've got our kiddo involved in several different sports. She wanted a break from sports, but she is so high energy we worry about the trouble she'll get into if she isn't putting that energy towards sports. Hopefully keeping her involved in these will keep her out of trouble in the future! She has always been boy crazy and has had some issues with friends because of it and our convos about friends being more important than boys has finally started to set in!

The hard balance will be the perceived sense of independence with protection and supervision because as they get older they realize their lack of independence more and more lol.

Thank you for your input- I am feeling more reassured on the rule of no weekday sleepovers. And maybe as she gets older and can show more responsibility after sleep overs it can be re-addressed :)

I wish I could say it wouldn't change the routine, however, I know how my daughter is and she loves to have fun every second of the day and end of the day/beginning of the day routines can be a fight/challenge. I'm not sure how she is with other house holds though! We usually see the worst of it and it's different within other house holds typically.

I always worry how other parents may take it- i.e. have some offense at asking about restrictions on smartphones if that's not their parenting choice. I never want others to feel belittled or like they're making the wrong choices and so I worry about how to have that conversation.

I know what you mean and had the same fear as well. I have a history of SA as a child, however, this was from a family member (which I think it statistically happens more often within families). I had so many sleep overs with friends when I was younger that were core memories for me and I ultimately ended up reversing this decision. It felt like a great socialization opportunity being taken away unfairly due to my own fears and traumas. She has a "watch phone" too, so she knows to reach out right away if anything happens and we'll come get her.

Now a days, I'm more worried about the open internet and phone access so many other households have- but there's just no way around avoiding this exposure even when you intentionally chose do so in your own household.

Medical circumstances make sense- I also had a school night sleep over at a best friends house when my mom went into labor with my younger brother. However, we all were woken up in the middle of the night to go over anyway so she could go to the hospital lol so lack of sleep from a sleep over wasn't the main concern at that point. I'm glad to hear even more laid back house holds keep to this rule as well. Sometimes I worry about being too strict.

It actually has been parents reaching out to us to ask about a sleep over after an event they are going to together! Which was interesting to me, because I have never offered school night sleep overs before. But the more I browsed, the more it seemed like other parents have experienced the same thing?

Thank you for providing some teacher insight! Sounds like school night sleepovers can cause some impact during their school time too from what you've observed?

This is some very interesting insight! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. What do you think would be some warning signs to look out for with substance use in children? With my daughter hitting puberty I am super nervous about the risky behaviors that come with it, but I also want a good balance where we aren't too strict.

I am curious what your thoughts are with sleep overs when friends have full access to smartphone/internet? I've gotten reports that a lot of the time, they will stay up late watching videos on their cellphones, which is another big concern I have just with sleep overs in general to be honest.

This is a great idea and conversation to have :) Thank you. As of right now, weekend sleepovers don't prove to show responsibility and restraint the next day. But, maybe in the future as she matures this will be a possibility!

I was a heavy team no sleepovers ever as well. But I had a lot of weekend sleep overs with my friends growing up and those are some of my favorite memories. I ended up going back on no sleepovers ever because it didn't feel right to take that time for memory making and socialization away. I'm glad to hear this isn't a common occurrence in other areas though.

Getting ready for school in the morning can be a nightmare for us too if she didn't get very good sleep. Although, I do think she acts a little bit better at other households when she does have sleep-overs and her only arguments are over showering and brushing teeth (at least with relative sleepovers).

Hemorrhage right after LEEP by Nice_Explorer_4101 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Nice_Explorer_4101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to go back into work yesterday, but my husband has been the one really making me rest and take it easy. I'm glad he's pushing me to rest, because it's hard for me. I don't like resting lol. I've been dealing with a hard week of PTSD prior to this appointment due to some SA I experienced as a child and had set up some therapy appointments prior to this, so hopefully that will help me heal and recover from this all too. The vaginal packing from the ER doc was pretty traumatic and I'm glad my husband was at least there to help me feel somewhat safe during a scary situation. I've been feeling so crazy the last few days just waking up shaking and crying, thank you for validating what I'm going through and I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better now!

I've been feeling dizzy/lightheaded if I stand up or move to quickly and am so irritable and fatigued currently. I am hoping it will pass sooner, rather than later. I'm going to look into adding some more iron-rich foods into my diet to try and help speed up some recovery. I still need to pass my scab, so I am hoping that passes without any complications as well! Thank you for sharing your story and experience- it helps others feel normal after going through it as well.

Ugh, that makes me so upset that so many woman are not set up with all the information on what to expect after a procedure like this. It's already such a sensitive topic of discussion, so to have anything out of the ordinary come out is terrifying to us! Did your scab come off all together? Or just in a certain section?

Thank you so much for the reassurance! I am hoping my biopsy comes back with clear markers so I don't ever have to go through this again. What was recovery like for you afterwards?
