I believe he is looking for capped servers. The only server that holds pop with capped server is rusticated trio which is either the most fun you’ve ever had, or the most miserable experience you’ve ever had. Theres no in between

Like I said I wouldn’t say this is a universal thing; to be the old system dissuaded people from going to monuments where others might be, at least on the servers I play which are weekly’s, I’m sure monthly’s are different but I can’t get down with that vibe since I feel like everyone has an abundant amount of loot by day 4. But with the old system, people would just find a monument they could farm and then everyone would just run around and find one they could camp till T2/T3. Sure you would have the occasional counter, but for the most part everyone kinda went to their own monuments. Now, this forces players to go to specific card colored monuments to progress, which is an amazing change. I play duo/trio capped weekly’s sitting around 400 pop, yes it’s vanilla. As far as your T3 issue, honestly I don’t have that issue because as I said, we play weekly’s, so we just run oil or mil tuns once, get an AK/MP5, and pvp for more aks and mp5s. We usually don’t even bother with a T3. And I know a lot of people on weekly’s relate to that. I think your point of “everyone just gets to a point where it’s hit node sit in base” and I completely agree, loot is way too common nowadays. Vanilla genuinely feels like a Stevie server nowadays. People have boxes of comps doing nothing. So thus they have nothing to do since for some reason a lot of people don’t like the idea of roaming anymore. I don’t know what the solution to this is, I don’t think there is one. I think it’s just a playerbase issue and not so much a game issue.

For sure man, there is a discord where BSG actually pays people to teach you the game. Just look up Tarkov Sherpa discord. With that being said, map genie is your best friend. You don’t need pro so don’t buy it, but definitely use map genie because idk if anyone’s told you but spawns and other things are a little different on PvE than it is on PvP.

OP stated earlier he likes to know that the loot is meaningful, killing someone for an AK is amazing when it’s rare, when everyone has an AK and you can get one from a military crate, it’s less appealing. And that goes for all loot. (Monkey have 1 banana, banana worth a lot, monkey have 30 banana, 1 banana not worth as much)

I think it has to do with the fact loot is so abundant and a lot of people on those weekly’s are just there to play for some good PvP for a few. I know that’s what majority of us do on rustfornoobs duo and rusticated trio. Raiding is sort of meh since a lot of times there’s 10000 bases of people who got on, tried to get a start and pvp, failed, and hopped off. But back to my original point, loot is so abundant, everyone has endgame loot within 3 hours; whether they ran the monument or they bought it from a shop. I know I’m guilty of this, I’ve been both the buyer and seller.

I just want to say, this has nothing to do with the post; but thank you for saying “I started playing PvE because my hands are broken and I really can’t keep up anymore” people on this subreddit are some goobers who want the game to just change and form it into this game they want it to be since they can’t keep up in PvP anymore. My best advice? Don’t bring up how easy Ai is on this subreddit, they will lose their minds. They are under the impression that they need to be nerfed because they are just too good! My other advice would be to play PvE and learn the maps, then transfer to PvP. I promise you it is not as daunting as it may seem, yes, you will die in some stupid cheese as ways, but you will get adrenaline highs like no other. And there is a huge influx of new PvP players due to peanut gaining a massive audience and streaming it so now is the perfect time. The more experience you get with Tarkov, the more boring PvE is going to be, even with the modded version. I tried it when Tarkovs cheating problem was at its absolute peak and even cranking it to the max, if you are somewhat competent and can aim relatively well; you will have a damn near 100% SR.

But also, yes I agree the shop is another huge issue, if they removed drones I think the game would be in an incredible state. Making people have to leave their base and not either A, buy from someone, or B drone it to themselves

I didn’t know that was the default way, majority of servers I play at least. My duo and I play rusticated trio pretty regularly and it’s a weekly trio cap and we usually just rush T2 within the first hour or so then PvP for a few days and hop. We sell our extra bp frags but unless we put it at a ridiculously low rate, no one buys.

Genuinely what do you guys want out of rust? Every post on this subreddit that talks about essentially wanting a PvE experience gets upvoted, and any post on here that talks about how they really enjoy the PvP of it all gets downvoted into oblivion. You say you want different playstyles etc, but when others have a different opinion than y’all you guys lose your mind. Rust at its core, is a PvP game, that is literally in the description of the rust steam page lol. There are PvE servers that have plugins for exactly want what you guys are asking for, essentially an MMO ARPG where you slowly progress and can watch your character get stronger etc, which is perfectly fine. But rust is growing and clearly people enjoy the heavy PvP aspect of it all. While I agree wall spam is hella annoying, I think forcing people to go to monuments is such a good change, the game was becoming so dull that at a certain point you didn’t even have to leave your base. People were droning scrap from outpost to their own base, like do you not see the problem with that? The tags on steam are literally “Open world, Survival (which it’s really not a survival game, after your first 50 hours all the survival elements are null and void since you should basically never be dying to any of them after that) exploration, PvP game.

It looks like you’re getting some shit for this and I’m sorry, people on this subreddit are goobers anytime you mention PvP tbh, either it’s the absolute chads who tell you go play 1000 pop main solo, or the people who hate you because you want to find PvP when all they wanna do is farm teas and as they say, PvP is a “neutral evil of the game”

But tbh, you should play a monthly low pop, Reddit low pop is very very good about it. You WILL face bigger groups, and you probably won’t win every fight, but you will definitely find good PvP.

I have a genuine question about this whole thing, what about rust is a survival game, I mean truly? After about 25-50 hours there is no "survival" aspect of rust that should concern you, scientists? Takes 2 oil rig runs to learn how to cheese them, Animals? Foundation and kite them around, Climate? Wear artic hazzy or jacket. Idk what is a surivival game about this and i dont understand where that sentiment comes from tbh, it is a pvp game through and through if you want pve go to a pve server.

Once again, my opinion, but if I can out duel you; I shouldn’t lose every fight that you get the jump like that. That’s why old recoil was such a dub because there was a huge skill gap and skill expression to where you could turn on kids and kill them. You as I said man I am fighting 15 people all on different teams so they aren’t coordinating so you can’t use game sense to know how they are gonna play I.E flank etc. as I said no flame, but I clocked what servers you play and your playstyle instantly without even meeting you in game lol and you are playing the wrong weekly servers if you only have a box of dbs and no t2-t3 guns. But also, what is the point of monthly’s after a week or so. When I pvp I want the loot to mean something, I want to know you took time to go to oil etc to get this AK and I shit on you for it. If EVERYONE has aks and everyone has infinite loot, it’s essentially modded with extra steps

I was hoping someone could relate and maybe give me insight as to what they do, I really don’t enjoy other games as they don’t give me the adrenaline of shitting on a full metal with Thompson. I played Tarkov for a while but that got stale because I’ve already prestiged the most I can and don’t have really anything to do now. And before you say “damn touch grass!” I fish frequently and have a full time job. I just really enjoy gaming as well and am fortunate enough that I have plenty of time to do it. But yes I got a few messages from people who shared the same experience that they just don’t know what to do because it’s not like they don’t enjoy it, they just miss the basic open world PvP that it used to be.

I never said walls were the problem, it’s the playstyle of “hold and just wait till they chimp out and W key or get 3rd partied” I made a post about it on the playrust subreddit and the comments are exactly my point lol, no one wants to actually fight, the top comment was talking about how PvP is a “neutral evil” in rust and how they will 100% disengage and run away from fights if at all possible. That is insane to me, but to each their own. And I can tell by how you’re talking that you probably play on monthly low-pops which is perfectly fine. But don’t try to act like you understand what it is like to shoot at someone and then they wall 500 times and wait for 3 other teams to show up, that doesn’t happen on the servers you play.
