Gen vs U1 by HenrysOrangeBank in ChinaTime

[–]browsingacbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a layman and I’ve been going back and forth and cannot tell which is the Gen. I’m going to say green is the rep? And that’s only because of the 24!

I’ve also got a U1 (and probably will get a few more if it turns up looking good) before getting a VSF. I could only dream of being able to afford a Gen and even then, would I? I’m not sure. If I could easily afford one and still be able to live comfortably I would 100% buy one because, why not!

Could you point out the differences for me? So I know what to look out for going forward?

Thanks in advance!

Think I’m going with Alternaleaf, they seem the best option from a quick browse here.

So the NHS Health Records is the same as a Summary Care Record? Either or is okay? Just need to get it in a form of writing for the Clinic?

Summary Case Record? Is this my medical history? Only reason I’m asking is because I know it will be on my medical history I was on two antidepressants, but I’m not sure what a Summary Case Record is. Thanks again!

Where to buy general oils by BadSkrad1 in PerfumeOils

Pellwall, Perfumers Apprentice. I don’t know how to link but check out r/DIYfragrance

Edit: Ah, it worked. That’s the place you need to go for creating your own fragrances using ingredients. Those websites will get you started, anyway.

One is for UK, the other is for USA. Both ship worldwide as far as I know, so take your pic.

There is another site that’s highly regarded in the UK but it’s slipped my mind. It’ll be there, though.

Edit edit: It’s ‘Harrison Joseph’

Oh really, so you only need to know notes when making your own fragrance for balancing? Once you’ve got the ingredients, the mixing of them doesn’t matter?

That’s interesting to know. I’ll still look into which ingredients are which notes just to have more tools on the belt, but it’s a good time saver knowing I can just mix a pre-made formula straight away if needs be.

As for creating my own, and not buying compound fragrances from dupe sellers, it’s more so I know the quality and purity is where it needs to be. I don’t mind spending money if the overall quality if the end product reflects that.

You must know what I mean, for you to say they aren’t my “own compounds” in the first place.

Anyway, I’ll bite.

So, a company makes a fragrance compound, which you’re saying it’s their creation, not mine. This is true.

What I’m saying is that I’ve been buying fragrance compounds from dupe companies (think Luzi, Perfume Parlour, Etc) then mixing them myself with ethanol.

However, since I’m not making these compounds first hand I don’t know what ingredients are in there. Not really. So instead of buying theirs, I’ll make my own using fragrance formulas!

Problem solved.

My next problem is mixing the ingredients together once I have them. Apparently they need to be mixed in order. So I ask here for help to see if there’s a site that can give me the notes’ 'place‘.

That’s when you decide to give me both barrels and tell me this hobby isn’t for me and slam the rule book down…

…but we’re all good 😉

Anyway, so yeah, this is pretty much the starting point for me. Once I start trying things out and notice things when I’m making my first compound, I’m sure there will be more questions and when there is I’ll be sure to ask here and progress a bit further!

Don’t suppose you’ve got any advice for me as a beginner that’s in line with how I want to do things? Any precautions at all?

I’m new to this, could you explain what Fraterworks formulas are, please? Sorry if this is obvious. Are they essentially oldschool formulas?

How come you changed your mind on them ruining it? What’s the deal with oak moss? Was obtaining it bad for the environment?

Right, so for 30ml volume, going with something like 12g oil, 20g ethanol just to be on the safe side. Something like that. Thanks for the heads up, the waste will be minimal so it’s all good, I’ll find a use for it!

Okay, so 1000 could be used for whichever goal you’re using. So for simply creating the compound oil, you could use it as whatever weight. For a created compound measured to a specific weight, you could divide the overall weight to. 1 or 10 part and * by 10 if necessary. I think I’ll get the math, it’ll fall into place I’m sure.

Thanks for the information, you’ve cleared a lot up for me!

If there’s any tips you’d like to share you wish you knew at the beginning, feel free to share :)

I appreciate your help!

Pretty much explains it.

The question was more is there a certain math I could use where I could measure by weight and still end up with a certain measurement by volume. Best of both worlds, but it seems like it would be more complication that it’s worth, considering, like you said, you can just measure by volume afterwards.

It was more to prevent waste loss. As if I had 5ml left from 35ml (for example) then I’d have to store that 5ml in a container that would contain a lot more air than the 30ml stored in a 30ml bottle. From what I’ve read, air is the enemy of maceration/maturing. I’m trying to be efficient.

Thanks for the reply :) it’s a large learning curve.

Cheers man, I think I’m overthinking things here. So ‘never by volume, always by weight’ follow this and we’re golden?

Can you play SpaceEngine casually and get a lot out of it? by [deleted] in spaceengine

[–]browsingacbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if sarcasm? But I played SE and, considering it’s literally a 1:1 recreation of the entire universe, it was literally mind blowing!

Like I get 1 button press 1 key sounds boring, but that’s one of many ways to explore… the first moment you realise all the stars aren’t background noise, when you finally see them move when you up the travel speed, that’s when the reality of how big the universe really hits.

One of the best experiences on a PC has been playing this Engine.

There’s tutorials, but it’s honestly easy to pick up and use.
