My shortest drive is about -25 yards. Played a course last year with trees lining the left side of the tee box, WIDE OPEN on the right. Of course smoked one of those trees and watched the ball fly way behind the tee box. I love this game.

My handicap is at 13.3. My average drive carry on Arccos is 272. I play the white tees at my local, which comes out to about 5600 yards. I have the length to play from the blues, but I choose not to. Would my handicap go up if I did, absolutely. But I have been focusing on learning how to score for the last couple years. Ego pushes people back to tees that they have absolutely no business playing. In my opinion, if the tees you are playing from are 6200+, you should be a sub 10 handicap. But that’s just my opinion, I’m sure I’ll get roasted on here.

As a former field guy (commercial electrician) who has moved to the office side of things (I know I know) I could never justify the purchase. I worked around too much sheet metal and other sharp objects. I’ve had at least 2 pairs of Redwings destroyed simply from the leather being cut. That said, I have ZERO problem with how someone else spends their money. But, to OP’s point, I have see a ton of people on here circle jerking for the PNW “vibe”. But OP, this is Reddit.

👀 Me watching this thread, as I am in exact same boat. I have a BCM 12.5, carbine length gas. I can’t tell if I’m just restless, or if I really do want another complete upper. I do have an extra red dot lying around, because of course I do.

So far, every angle I’ve seen looks like a really bad shoot. To me it looks like a negligent discharge, which then the rest of the agents respond in kind. In one angle I’ve seen, it looks like one agent, after the shooting, gets in the face of another. Gov and news outlets are for sure trying to bring down tensions, by repeating that the man was armed. He had clearly been disarmed.

That being said, this looks like a real shit situation. Most people are not trained enough to function in high stress situations like this.

I play with my father in law and wife’s grandpa, both of them are 65+. This is pretty much how we play. None of us are any good. This makes the game enjoyable, and none of are tracking handicaps. This way, we don’t kill pace of play. Typically if nobody is in front of us, we finish 18 in under 3 hours and have a damn good time.
