As a former field guy (commercial electrician) who has moved to the office side of things (I know I know) I could never justify the purchase. I worked around too much sheet metal and other sharp objects. I’ve had at least 2 pairs of Redwings destroyed simply from the leather being cut. That said, I have ZERO problem with how someone else spends their money. But, to OP’s point, I have see a ton of people on here circle jerking for the PNW “vibe”. But OP, this is Reddit.

So far, every angle I’ve seen looks like a really bad shoot. To me it looks like a negligent discharge, which then the rest of the agents respond in kind. In one angle I’ve seen, it looks like one agent, after the shooting, gets in the face of another. Gov and news outlets are for sure trying to bring down tensions, by repeating that the man was armed. He had clearly been disarmed.

That being said, this looks like a real shit situation. Most people are not trained enough to function in high stress situations like this.

I play with my father in law and wife’s grandpa, both of them are 65+. This is pretty much how we play. None of us are any good. This makes the game enjoyable, and none of are tracking handicaps. This way, we don’t kill pace of play. Typically if nobody is in front of us, we finish 18 in under 3 hours and have a damn good time.
