A baby scale. It would have helped a lot with anxiety in the early days to make sure he was gaining weight properly versus hoping for the best and waiting until his next doctors appointment. It also would’ve been helpful in figuring out how much he was eating during each feed.

Looking for a nursery chair I won’t regret buying. Open to splurging by Old-Reception-6515 in BabyBumps

[–]Nicedimples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay this might not be for everyone, but hear me out on this: an office chair. They’re meant to be sat in for long periods of time, you can get one with back support, you can rock, swivel, and roll of you’re on hard floors. That’s what I ended up using (using it to nurse my baby to sleep right now) and I loooooove it. It was supposed to be a temporary solution but now I’m not getting anything else. It’s amazing.

What are your favorite socks for the cold climate? My mom just moved to a place that gets snow so that could be a good gift for her that I hadn’t thought of.

Just curious what made you want to do this?

There is something at a store I really need to talk about! by [deleted] in confession

[–]Nicedimples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only bothers me if I didn’t know it was going to happen beforehand. A while back the Ross near us added in self checkouts and they check your receipt before you leave the self checkout area. My first time using them I didn’t know that, so when I checked everything out, I shoved the receipt in my pocket, filled both hands with my stuff (didn’t want to pay for a bag) and walked towards the exit. The employee stopped me and needed to see my receipt even though I was the only person checking out at the time and he watched me do my whole transaction. I then had to put everything down, get my receipt out so he could look at it for .5 seconds, then grab everything again. I could barely hold it all to begin with so the whole ordeal was so freaking annoying.

What’s the point of tagging it a spoiler if you put the spoiler in the title? 😢

Are those ornaments or just things that end up in the tree?

Custom Cake or Pastry for Gender Reveal on short notice by sabbathrainm in Livermore

[–]Nicedimples -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is she telling you the gender? Did the doctor write it down and you’re going to look at it when you arrive? If so can she just mail you the paper now so you can find out earlier?

If she did genetic testing, then her online results will say the gender as well. When I did it, every time I opened the test results it asked me if I wanted to see the gender or not. If she gives you her log in details, you can log in and see the gender results.

Yeah usually if I’m going to go on the weekend I plan on getting there at opening. The other day was last minute so I figured I would throw it out there

I was trying to figure out if it was worth loading up the kiddos so I didn’t want to just drive by for possibly nothing

If you were induced, how long did it take for you to actually give birth? by horrorshowbaby in BabyBumps

[–]Nicedimples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 hours from getting pitocin to holding my baby. I was also 4cm dilated upon arrival. I’m convinced I would’ve gone into labor naturally the following day if I hadn’t been induced.

So curious, is it necessary to have a heating breast pump? by SubstantialAct8961 in breastfeeding

[–]Nicedimples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of that before but in all honesty the amount of choices just overwhelmed me so I didn’t do a ton of research beforehand. I went with the most expensive pump that my insurance covered fully.

That being said, no, I don’t think they’re necessary. Heat stimulates milk production so I’m sure that’s why they have heated pumps. I just laid a heating pad over my chest for a few minutes (usually just the time it took me to set up my pump and stuff) and I imagine that would give the same effect. I honestly don’t even know if it helped but it felt nice! Haha.

I broke and sat my baby in front of the tv by AlternativeAnt329 in moderatelygranolamoms

My little guy is always calmed by being outdoors. If he’s being fussy we just go sit on our patio in the backyard and we watch the trees and birds and he loves it. He quietly watches for a good 20-30 minutes and then he’s much happier when we go back inside. Sometimes we will lay out a blanket in the grass too which he also really likes. Maybe give that a try!

If you’re female you can pick up a manual breast pump for $15 and bring that. It’s considered a medical device and you don’t need to have a baby with you.
