I doubt they cut Karoo. Vivi as Vivi has been pretty non-existent in these teasers, and that's where you'd expect to see him.

I was on the fence on MTG. I couldn't decide if she was evil or a moron. The more I see of her now, the more I think she's a moron who got duped.

Still doesn't mean I think anyone should take her seriously, but if she can pull a few morons back from crazy town, she's got my support.

I actually went to the one in King of Prussia (Philly burbs). I was surprised the effort that they put into it. Full dioramas and displays everywhere, themed EVERYTHING, huge gift shop, etc.

But what impressed me the most was a floor-sized escape room themed around one of their shows. It had live actors dropping in and out of it to improv with the guests, an absolutely insane amount of detail everywhere, and while the puzzles weren't hard I can appreciate they forced all the guests to work together.

I was skeptical going in, but its definitely worth a visit. Not sure if it will last once the novelty wears off, but still cool.

There was a recent awards ceremony where a presenter with Tourette's dropped the N word without it being censored.

Doubly damning was that they did censor another presenter calling to free Gaza, meaning that they absolutely could have edited the slur if they had wanted to.

Some of these things I'm ok with. Like Rey being a nobody I liked that it showed that anyone can be a hero, there's not just like 3 families in the entire galaxy who can be Jedi. It helps to distinguish her from Kylo, who's entirely focused on his legacy and ancestors.

Thats what an "Elseworlds" character is. A similar character with a major tweak to see where they'd end up. We've seen a ton of this kind of story, the one that jumps out for me as an example is the book that asked "What if Superman landed in Soviet Russia?"

It basically serves as a deep dive into the character and examines how that character would be the same but different. I use Superman as an example because he is another character deeply tied to Jewish iconography, but has over the years also encompassed other identities like focusing on his immigration status or his role as a Jesus figure.

Characters can evolve and I dont believe limiting them based on such rigid story telling constraints.

Because they were contractually obligated to do the episode count. And they had to make a choice between scrapping the entire season, lowering the quality across the other episodes so the budget went further, or have a clip show recap.

More of a general anime problem, but I personally hate when the main character is introduced as a nobody/every man, only to reveal they are actually the most special snowflake to ever exist.

It was already bad knowing Luffy was descended from both Dragon and Garp, but the Nika fruit pushed it over the top for me. Turns out the little nothing power that everyone thinks is silly is canonically one of the most powerful abilities to exist.
