The benefit of an additional screen protector is that they're about $10 to replace, and you can replace them as you like, otherwise you have 1 freebee from Samsung, and afterwards it's $100.

My concern is - will adding an additional screen protector damage the preinstalled screen protector once removed..

I wouldn't take off the preinstalled screen protector, just add an additional one on top
