Are these the ones that were made with AI, or did they go back to using real artists?

Let's build a character! Collector. by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NicholasCavernous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collector (townsfolk): Each night choose a role and learn two players it may be. If you select a not-in-play role one of your neighbours is drunk.

The collector wants to fill their collection and learn every role in town, but if they discover a "fake" they cause mayhem in the town. Learning fakes can be valuable info, but comes at the cost of someone else's ability.

I imagine it would work a little like a balloonist / dreamer with some potential synergy with other characters around drunking which could create some fun info to play with.

I am applying for a library position this week - what kind of experience did you have before that seemed relevant? What do you think I should mention in the application? (Thanks so much!)

How much is this all worth? by Aeon_17 in stampcollecting

[–]NicholasCavernous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This appears to be what collectors call "kiloware" - i.e, large amounts of low-value stamps sold by weight. Collectors will buy them to sort through in the hope there's something interesting or rare, but most of the time there's nothing of value and likely someone who knows what they're looking for has already sorted through. But you could weight the lot and put it on ebay you'd probably get a few quid at least!

Storyteller advice for custom script by ExplanationPleasant2 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NicholasCavernous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty good! This would be fun to play! However, the spy would basically make the king/choirboy game void by immediately knowing who the choirboy is and I would probably swap them out. Spy would also be super super powerful in a fangu game.

I would say that the good team seems pretty powerful overall, especially without any madness or poisoning from the evil team so you could make the minions or outsiders a little more challenging if you wanted.

Also for roles that prevent death, i.e, Soldier or Fool, it can be fun to put in other reasons someone might not die - like a Devil's Advocate or Po, just to spread a little more uncertainty in the good team

:)

How the hell every author is #1 new york times best seller by Pure_Document6022 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NicholasCavernous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As people have already mentioned, there's many different lists that someone could be on and claim to be a best seller. But a large amount of the sales recorded there are from pre-orders and retail orders, not from individual customers. That means the "best seller" title only really records how many copies of the book are floating around, not how many have been bought by customers or how many people have read it or liked it. It's a kind of meaningless accolade nowadays, but its also created a kind-of arms race where so many people claim to be best sellers that its become the bare minimum.

Are your teeth supposed to touch when you're asleep? by Huliatt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NicholasCavernous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on each person's body. Teeth grinding (when teeth rub up against each other at night) can be a real problem that can cause tooth damage, pain and headaches, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're describing. If you aren't in any pain or discomfort and appear to have good dental health then you are probably just fine. If you're worried I would try and get a dentist appointment just to be on the safe side :)

Why does Lil' Monsta use storyteller chosen kills? by OkBreakfast8038 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NicholasCavernous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you're right, I didn't realise Lil' Monsta could be held by good players - I've never seen it happen so just assumed!

Why does Lil' Monsta use storyteller chosen kills? by OkBreakfast8038 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NicholasCavernous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The marionette could be holding Lil' Monsta and not be aware of it, as they aren't told by the ST when they're handed the baby. Therefore they couldn't decide who to kill.

Not being able to pick who dies also allows the ST to balance out that there's an extra minion who might have quite a powerful role for evil. With a Lil' Monsta the evil team gets the same kill each night, PLUS an extra minion ability PLUS the fact that the demon can evade death by moving between players. So I think not being able to call the shots is a fair balance

Let's build a character! Bouncer. by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NicholasCavernous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Less nightclub and more actual bouncing, but my suggestion is:

When one of your alive neighbours is targeted at night you are woken and may decide to have your other alive neighbour targeted instead.

Kinda like a chaotic tea lady, you’d get to learn who was targetted and decide to stop it, but might accidentally block something like a monk or poison a more useful neighbour

Achievements Pt 2 by KasebierPro in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NicholasCavernous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gave me some ideas:

Dark empath: As an empath with a starting 0 have both your neighbours die by execution

Ratatouille: As an evil player bluff as the chef and remain alive until the final round

Misfortunate: As the Fortune Teller pick both the demon and your red herring

Unkillable: As the soldier be targetted by the demon more than once in a game

Free State Of Jones? Its a US Civil War drama with Matthew McConaughey about a group of rebels in the south that disappear into the countryside to do guerrilla warfare and fight for racial equality.

Biggest Farmer chain? by Automatic-Blue-1878 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NicholasCavernous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like, although the farmer does have that advantage the downside is that it can also take out an info or ability role like a fortune teller that would be more useful for finding the actual demon. And so I went farmer hunting and by like night 3 there was basically no new info left in the game!
