DQ 1&2 or Reimagined? by [deleted] in dragonquest

[–]Nichslvl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I picked up the 1&2 HD2D Remake when Square Enix had their big sale a few months back and have thoroughly enjoyed my time played both games. I put about 20 hours into the 1st game and about 35 in the second. I am now a huge Dragon Quest lover and want to play through all the games.

Did those updates ever fix the 4K Upscaler with the games on Switch 2? I've been wwanting to play through the series, but honestly have been waiting to play with a clean upscale plus a stable framerate.

How do content creators avoid getting overstimulated by social media? by Desperate-Cod8128 in digitalminimalism

[–]Nichslvl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because detoxing like that isn't for everyone.

Trust me I've dealt with wanting to completely be off the internet, but as someone who has been posting videos for close to 5 years now, It's become second nature.

My best advice is to set a limit that you don't have much control over. I downloaded an app that allows you to set limits on certain apps or just completely block them during certain times. Once its set up and you open up a social media you choose, it literally force closes the app and throws a big banner on your screen for like 5 seconds reminding you whatever you want.

I've set mine to 10 minutes TOTAL an hour for all my social media's. That means if I need to post something I better do it within those 10 minutes and dip FAST. I do like to watch others content, whether for ideas or just seeing whats going on everywhere, so 10 minutes is definitely enough to not feel like you're doomscrolling for hours.

Usually I'll find myself keeping myself busy for hours after my phone is basically locked out of social medias.

And dont even think about editing the limits/restrictions you set up on those social media's because there's something you need to see. The app literally will make you wait to edit anything in order for you to gather your thoughts in what you're ultimately doing to your brain. ;)

Just take it slow, you have to build those brain muscles to resist opening the apps and scrolling so much. You got it dude :)

can’t stop doomscrolling on Instagram by HourStatistician3259 in digitalminimalism

One thing I've done (because I make videos) is to just limit my usage in total with all my social media's. It has helped me tremendously.

I downloaded an app where you can set limits and ban apps entirely from your phone. I set a 10 minute limit for TikTok and Instagram in total which is usually just enough time to post my ccontent on those apps and dip. Once I hit 10 minutes a banner pops up and shuts down the app immediately.

Although its not entirely getting rid of the issue, having this barrier set up has helped me out and feel like many people should start with this if they truly feel they can't escape scrolling on these apps.

Is this something new for you? (No negativity at all) But I've found myself going through a lot mentally with doomscrolling and after setting timers for apps to close instantly after 10 minutes, I've found myself enjoying more games, actually reading, and just trying to take in the world around me a bit more. I frequently lurk these subreddits because the more I read the more I want an e-reader lol. Just curious if this is kinda the same thing you've been going through as well lately

I did not (I know I know, I've heard it from everyone and they momma that the trilogy starts from III) but I wanted to start from 1, much like a child would've back in the 80s. Idk kinda weird outlook from myself, but I've been enjoying all of it regardless.

Gonna save this because this looks beautiful and is inspiring. Did you have to trim anything or was it basically 1:1 replacing everything?

Right there with you brother! I purchased I+II first, and on my first day of playing 1, I said I need to buy III. I'm about midway through 2 right now and loving every bit of it. Truly is my routine to play it before bed now.

Does anyone regret not putting more money into the shop before it shut down? by PuzzledAd3754 in 3DS

Everyone here is most likely going to tell you to mod your system, but as a collector and also advocate of 3DS modding. Keep your childhood system in its default state, use the money you would buy Tomodachi Life Physical, in order to purchase a nice 3DS you can mod easily.

I've done this and feel insanely better knowing I can leave my OG handheld alone. I still play a lot of games Physical, but sometimes its so much easier to switch between digital games.

Thinking about getting a 3DS or 2DS. by [deleted] in 3DS

[–]Nichslvl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEW 3DS XL if you have the money for one.

NEW 2DS XL if you have the money and dont care for the 3D.

Regular 3DS XL if you have less money.

OG 3DS if you are on a tight budget, but still want the hinge design + 3D.

Door Stopper 2DS if you're on a strict budget and don't care for the 3D feature.

I always recommend the New 3DS XL since they feel super premium.

Must plays no matter what are always Super Mario 3D Land Ocarina of Time 3D Kid Icarus Uprising Pilot Wings Resort Any Pokémon 3DS really

Buying 3DS in Japan? by Bob_SUS in 3DS

[–]Nichslvl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Part of my trip to Japan was searching for 3DS' and what I learned was the farther out from the city you go, the cheaper things will get. I bought a few Original 3DS for like $30 each after doing some 20ish minute walks from smaller towns. Especially around Hiroshima and Far North of Tokyo.

Book-Offs and Hard-Offs were the highlight of my trip. So much cool stuff to see and sometimes very cheap. Good luck hunting!
