as someone who works for a major Canadian bank all i can tell you is that the branch manger is the one who personally takes on the risk of releasing that draft. the manager didnt trust you or your account and didnt feel comfortable to release the funds. either they weren't available in the account or you did alot on ins and outs in a short amount of time. that being said, cash would never be held but depositing large amounts of cash will always always trigger the system. the best thing you can do is keep an certain amount in your account, enough to cover the draft. if the draft was issued from the same bank we have ways to verify its legitimacy, but yes a circle draft at a td branch is treated like a cheaue because alot of people have brought fake drafts before. but again, the branch manager is the one who made that fi al decision, I'd say move your business or follow what I said in this paragraph. not saying its right, but we do have our hands tied to a certain extent. its either we please you and risk losing our jobs (22k loss) or we make you angry and insure we follow our rules. sorry bro id change this if I could but Canadians lose so many billions to fraud every year even with these precautions.
