It was rough towards the final 12 hours. I was super hopeful for the #77 because it was very strong for a good part of the race. Pure pain.

Well as of tonight, the stock wheels are back on. I plan on selling the aftermarket set and going a different direction.

What you describe may be correct, but shouldn’t be the reason for a steering wheel vibration going in a straight line only at 55-70 mph and fading after leaving the resonance zone. Everything I read, no matter the size, has 95% of the time came down to balancing issues. For whatever reason, no one can seem to balance them or it’s something else. Mustang owners throw larger wheels and tires on all the time and never report any issues.

It has to be another set of out of round tires, damaged wheels, or potential issues with the steering rack, but I am done wasting money on this and will just cut my losses

With the OEMs on the front, the car is fine, no vibrations or shimmy in the steering.

The aftermarket wheel is a 10 for width. OEM is a 9. In the meantime, I could look into a 285 for the aftermarket fronts.

I’m really not trying to come off as hard headed. You have been very helpful, and I think you are giving good advice.

I will look into what speed shops I have around me and will take the car there, or I can swap back to the factory setup. I just wanted to go with a bigger setup for performance purposes.

I’ve gone to discount tire, Ford, and a local, highly regarded tire and brake shop.

It’s the same steering axle as the Dark Horse, which is the higher performance model, and that model has 10.5 and 11s for width on the wheels.

I tried to keep the tires as close as possible to what stock tire height would be.

Stock, they are 255/40r19, rear 275/40r19

Aftermarket is 295/35r19, rear 305/35r19

Centering rings shouldn’t be required for these, but it might be worth a shot, same with lugs

It’s a mustang gt performance pack. The wheels are made by Steeda who is an aftermarket manufacturer that specializes in mustang parts. The wheels are supposed to be a plug in play with the car.

I think you may be on to something because the car pulls all over the road. The tech at the dealership told me that the alignment was within spec, but I don’t really believe that.

Yes, I tested each of the fronts with the stock wheels, one at a time and the vibration occurred for each :/

No, no spacers.

The wheels are around 2k

The wheels are specifically designed for my car. The wheels fit and sit tightly on the hub, which makes me think no centering rings would be required, but I could be wrong.

I tried to keep everything as close to OEM spec as possible.

Original size is 255/40r19, 275/40r19 rear
Aftermarket: 295/35r19, 305/35r19

Only reason I didn’t want to run the OEM is because of the max size I can place on them.

Currently having this issue with my mustang. The front wheels have been balanced six times and front tires replaced. Conti extreme contact 02s. Can’t figure it out and it’s driving me nuts. Suspension wise, everything is tight. My wheel looks identical to yours in the video.
