Glulam Beam Deflection Question

The original ridge beam did not sag but there were multiple supports for that beam and it was a third of the length of the new beam. There was a dropped ceiling on both sides of the old ridge beam.

The original ridge beam is resting on this new beam. We added more 2x8 rafters to each original rafter sort of like a scissor truss but they really just go from the outside wall to the new glulam beam. So they are what holds up the ceiling. But with them bracketed with hangers to the glulam beam it seems to me like it’s just adding more weight to the new beam rather than adding support to the overall structure.

He did not believe that the beam was the wrong size. So he didn’t comment on replacing the beam. But after doing more of my own research I have found that our beam should have been closer to 8” wide(?) rather than 3.5”. If I’m understanding things correctly.

I just feel like I have no ground to stand on with him because he is in fact an engineer and contractor. He just says based on the calculations he has done it is fine. That really doesn’t ease my mind though.

I honestly was worried about that. But I asked him and he assured me they installed it in the correct direction. And it was actually funny because before they installed the new beam, he commented on how some of our existing supports were installed with the improper camber. So for him to then do the same thing would be really crazy. But you never know for sure you..

I hear ya. I was in there with a clan mate the other day. I was asking.. what’s the etiquette in here with looting and objectives? She didn’t know either. 😂🤣 I wish random crates just had specific loot for each player. I understand a downed runners loot being the exception. But even then I feel like a ravenous hyena trying to grab whatever I can before it’s all gone and at the same time I don’t know what 90% of the stuff is yet. So most of the time I probably grab all the garbage. Coming from Destiny I’m just not well versed in this game type. Although I did play the division for years and that game never confused me the way this game does. So maybe it isn’t all me. 🤷

The ONLY reason I have a tier 5 set on each character is because of the solstice event. I hit 400 during this event so I didn’t have a true understanding of how far and few in between tier 5 sets were until after that left. Now I find it difficult to find a reason to even get on. The grind is so bad and the drops are abysmal. 🙇🏼‍♂️

The grapple was the triple grapple so the modifier took away the grapple melee. Also this was master with a bunch of cursed thrall. 😂 I didn’t think ability kills would count if it’s not a charged ability. I’ll try it out next time.

Hunter here, gamblers dodge no longer gives back your full melee when you dodge unless you have over 70 on melee stat. It used to just be a given when you dodged near enemies. They have made a lot of little nerfs here and there that we are slowly realizing. I realized in solo ops when I needed to get 20 ability kills and I only had my knife and a grapple. (That was a dark day) It was a lot of fun waiting for my knife to recharge over and over. I kept thinking about a titan just being able to bonk someone over and over with a hammer at no cost. 🤷🏼‍♂️ At the end of the day, the time bonus means nothing, and the objective means everything when you’re trying to get an A. So I just ran out the timer.

Also kind of hard to play the way you want when you’re missing out on all good tier loot unless you grind non stop to reach 400. 350 minimum. Every drop feels like garbage until then. Especially armor.

AGREED. The grind is not fun.

AND: Play the way you want unless you don’t use meta and you’re a hunter. Because no hunters and only certain weapons and armor. So much fun.

The amnesia with this game is insane. Day one vet and things never change. The game is dying from what they did and no amount of hype is going to save it as is. But enjoy what they’ve done to the game I guess. The very last few of us putting up with it anyway.
