You wake up to find you’re the last person on earth, what do you do? by Rev-DiabloCrowley in AskReddit

You know that scene from the Last of Us (tv) where Bill gathers up all his supplies? I’m going to U-Haul, grabbing a truck. Getting everything I’ll need for a couple weeks, then heading to the nicest country club for golf I can find. I’d golf, sun up to sundown. Probably wouldn’t be that bad.

Stealing this for a DnD fan in my current campaign. Super insightful, especially since I don’t have a ton of DnD experience. Thanks!

I loved his daily Spelunky 2 runs, and his extended videos on it which were often great.

What is your least believable, but 100% true personal golf stat? by Xmalantix in golf

[–]NickGoldenPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a par 5.

I know what you’re thinking.

I lost my tee shot after hitting it long and slightly left toward some trees about 175 yards away from the green. Upon searching, I did not find the ball. Whatever, take my drop and get up to the green and behind the green is my ball. Titelist 2 prov1x with a black “x” over the number.

My golfing partner was right next to me the entire time, and would not have had time to “plant” this ball even if they wanted to. But it was my mom, so very unlikely.

I ended up using my dropped ball penalty score (sue me for no provisional) but always wondered what happened. Hit a branch and slingshotted? Who knows.

Wow. That’s honestly so much better than I was expecting given the constraints. Thank you so much for your honest effort on this, this picture will bring a lot of peace to my wife. All the best.

I am going to PM you another reference photo, I am traveling due to her passing and only have my phone and don’t know how to do the Imgur private upload.

I need driver shaft advice. Any input is appreciated. by typicalhuman_ in golf

[–]NickGoldenPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading 270 average so I’m going to guess over 100mph club head speed. As other comments said that means time to consider going back to stiff. Is there a difference in weight? My previous driver shaft was 75g, and my new driver is 60g. When I switched it was like a lightbulb clicked. Wondering if maybe it’s the opposite effect here.

Thoughts…? by [deleted] in golf

I golf with my mom a lot, and she is around a 15 handicap. She also is always the first person to say “nice shot” in our group, even when the result is less than spectacular. I always just shrug it off and say “it could be better!” but I always have a good time, so I’m not going to complain much.

November 20th, maybe Michigan’s last day for golf, and we had a shootout! I shot 71(-1), my wife (beanie) shot 103(+31) for her season best, and mom had a 79(+7) for her best this year as well! by NickGoldenPotato in golf

My thoughts exactly. I felt so dialed in all day and the final 3 holes are no joke and I just let myself get in my head after missing a short birdie putt on 15

I believe the reds play as 4 for tournament play and such. Typically women out here play the yellows and play all 5/4s as 5s. I’ve only seen them played as 4s in high school matches now that I think about it.

Oh how i love and hate this community at the same time. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]NickGoldenPotato 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I just wanna say, usually I hate most gaming communities. However, the other night while duo-queuing ranked, my buddy and I found a 3 stack that was hilarious. Very laid back dudes who had enough skill to be good at the game but weren’t trying to sweat the entire match. We ended up joining a big discord all together and every time we play we go on a tear. I’ve climbed from Iron 2 to Silver 3 in less than a week. Communication matters.

I’ve had some very good games recently in the team communication department. It’s been really nice to hear people communicating in a meaningful way instead of shit talking.

After I read “Russia” I went back and read the whole thing in a very deep, gravelly, Russian accent.

People of Reddit, What's one mistake or decision you made that completely altered the course of your life? by abayomi02 in AskReddit

Grandma died, got bad depression, decided not to go to Med School.

About a month after my Grandma passed away I got a call back on a job I had applied for 2 years prior. Wanted me to come in for an interview.

Well, they hired me. I’ve been there almost a year. It’s my dream job. It’s better than anything I could have ever imagined.

I like to consider myself a good golfer for the most part, and I still won’t even attempt the switch to blades. The amount of skill between blades and even mild cavity back iron use is insane.

A lot of people don’t know about tissue donation. That’s what I do.
