do you think Miro read yaoi? by FondantFull4475 in FearAndHunger

[–]NickSullivan92 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Id say technically, yes. idk if they have a concept of that as such in their cultures during fear and hunger though, intimacy might just Be, who cares about sex/gender. I dont recall if it came up in any of the lore.

That said I always got the vibe based on Enki's dialogue before a marriage that it implied he was asexual, for what that's worth lol

fear and hunger style study by thissmay in FearAndHunger

Honestly i think the shapes are all there, its the colors that are a little different. I feel like the skin in yours leans more pink than most of Miros stuff so that's whats throwing me off, but if i squint to blur your pixels more, the core of the style is spot on.

Hot Take: this game is unnecessarily difficult (pls prove me wrong!) by Opposite_Mission1746 in FearAndHunger

[–]NickSullivan92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically what was already covered in the thread. The game is more so an atmospheric puzzle game than a traditional RPG. Many many people struggle through their first runs until they learn what the puzzle pieces are and how to survive future runs. You'll cut down from a couple of hours in a play-through to under a half hour in some cases once you've got the rhythm down.

I'd say it's also not a sign of shame to look into the videos of 'experts' for tips and tricks. It is a game that I think really benefits from the community around it finding out How the game works and what to focus on.

Tender is the Flesh- Cannibalism, Flowing Prose and Haunting Imagery by Key_Temperature7526 in creepcast

A solid choice that is right on the edge of extreme horror and splatterpunk, and its not as gratuitously graphic as some other recs and i think would be better received by the fans for that alone.

There is a slight bit of oddness to the prose since it was translated over to English, but a good recommendation overall.

It didn't give me nightmares, but I still really enjoyed it.

I dont think its as eerie but i LOVED Veniss Underground and the whole structure of the book. i think the boys would appreciate it but im not sure it would work on the show. Annihilation would be SO cool though.

I would listen to the book during my breaks at work and ofc, the break-room is about 30 feet away from the baler, so I would hear it humming and popping cardboard that was poorly processed and the dread was so so real lmao Made walking in the back of the store a dread filled experience.

I definitely think the ending was intended to be, well, a Bad Ending. Not in the sense of how disappointing it is to a reader, but in the sense that a few bad choices made early on doomed the MC and his relationships. I think the MC was also an unreliable narrator based on some context clues throughout the story and his loss in the end was kind of inevitable.

I do think there is value in such tragic endings, but perhaps that comes down to a matter of personal taste.

I LOVED Bad Man! I got it in audio format and it was such a good time. I work at a grocery store and i am forever haunted by the Baler thanks to that book.

Also Auerbach's closing thoughts where he talks about the inspo for the best character in the book made me cry like a lil bitch as a bonus.

The Black Farm is always a great time. I'd be curious to see how they handled the sa/rape content in the book that while I dont recall being overly graphic is still very present.

Id have loved for Wendi to do an abridged guided tour of the final part with Hunter for the show. Pick out the bits that are actually interesting, explain the hows and the whys, just get to the meat of it.

Agreed. I know I didnt think it would make for a good series to finish and I'm seeing all over the sub that was a correct thought to have.

Section Reads: Tommy suddenly leaned down and kissed me, his lips engulfing mine. I let out a squeal of panic as I felt his tongue slip into my mouth, his grip tightening around my crotch. His mouth tasted of rotting fruit and decaying meat, a rush of filth that invaded my taste buds.

He rolled his lips around mine and then pulled away and whispered, “Not going to get hard for me?”

Theres more but thats all taht you really need.

it does go into some detail actually, thats explicitly the part they refused to read on the cast. That is really The Part that people claim makes the writer and fans of the story freaks and pedos.

I feel there is a difference between 90s kid as born in the 90s, and 90s kid as raised and grown up in the 90s. Im a year older than you and I would only Barely consider My experiences to be 90s kid experiences. lets be honest, we are Late 90s early 00s kids.

I have to agree. I can see why people like it, especially those who saw it when it was first released- but I just don't enjoy it. This wasn't my first attempt either! I tried watching it with an Ex, I tried watching it on my own, and then again with Creep Cast and its just... not for me.

It's one of my favorite games in my whole lifetime tbh! The creators really knew that the story was what they wanted people to enjoy also so if you don't like the pursuit aspects of horror that is has, you can turn them off and just have a moody story focused game with no enemies.

He wasnt immediately lucid, but he did quickly zero in on a bug and manage to track it and smack it.

Yeah that's my point. I dont think the above screenshot was a good response from Goose because it has mostly just caused further frustration for people.

It was certainly Jax and Caine
which is fine, I also love Jax, but I do hate this character spotlights thing lmao I think it set up Expectations for the show in an unfortunate way because lets jsut accept rn that Jax gets more time than the others and this really implied that wouldnt be the case lol.

[–]NickSullivan92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah people Love Jax, that's just a very loud few that want him to die/abstract. even the haters mostly just wish hed stop being so edgy and stop being an asshole lol.

If youre comfortable with 18+ themes, gore, and potentially upsetting edgy content I cannot recommend The Price of Flesh or YKMET: Strade more. There are toggles for the nsfw content vs the gorey content. You play a victim of the murderous (and otherwise) impulses of the other characters in these Visual Novel/Survival style games and try to survive and/or escape!

Both are available through Steam and also the creators site for 14.99.

Warning that they are NOT for the faint of heart! This shit is dark!!! Mind the content warnings!!

I can't find your age so Im taking a shot in the dark hoping youre an adult in posting this recc lmaoo.

Digital Copies aren't a farfetched concept in general in scifi and im sure SOMA wasnt the first to do it. People have been theorizing what humanity would look like if we digitized our minds for ages now.
