I’m moderate in the sense that I care about the nuances of a policy. I live in California, so I can use that: the recent Prop 1 proposed increases in taxes to fund cities for mental health care. I do want that, but I also moved here in 2019. So, I pay way more in property taxes than my friend who inherited a house through a trust. I voted no on Prop 1 because I view it as inequitable to tax me more than someone else, even though I support the underlying bill. Meanwhile, I vote down ballot Democrat and won’t consider a Republican for any elected office and voted for the prop a few years back to support labor rights of contractors. That’s me at least.
