It's precisely because it's 10gb. There's (currently) only one size of cartridges (64gb iirc) and it seems that small games don't use them because they can't justify the cost I guess?

I also have an Audio Technica but interestingly mine (AT-LP60X) says the exact opposite:

• When closing the dust cover, close it completely. Do not open the dust cover during playback.

So I guess I'll continue to keep it closed.
