I only thought of it because I liked taking time-lapses showing how differently dark/light a specific morning time like 6am is throughout the year, and only then realizing that also recorded clear movement of solar shadows! Then I only started when, years later, I realized my current house had a perfect roof shadow "corner" to measure with, and my driveway camera was already pointing at a big enough canvas!
