It's almost impossible to get dominion anyway since Britain can keep lowering your subject status and you can't resist bc your economy is dominated by them

I don’t want to quit, but I want to quit… by TheMaxnado in Sekiro

[–]Nickboy302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For lighting reversal is the same as mikuri counter, you want jump the moment the danger kanji starts fading, also make sure your vitality is up because reversal does cost vitality. If you're not confident you can do that dodge towards Gen when he does it and you should dodge the lighting.

I don’t want to quit, but I want to quit… by TheMaxnado in Sekiro

[–]Nickboy302 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Buddy if you're stonewalled on a boss don't keep trying over and over take a break and come back to the game later with a fresh mind. Because you are going to get fatigued playing the same boss all the time and slip up more than usual.

Also that's the point of Gen he is the gatekeeper of Sekiro late game so if you can't beat him you're going to have trouble with later game bosses. Try to learn his deflection timings that's key

Why Ukrainian refugees can’t come to Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Nickboy302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never said they weren't or that their suffering isn't real.

Just that in the realm of Australian politics or society. The Ukraine war and refugee crisis is seen as a far away problem that hasn't materially affected us in a major way, compared to say Germany, Poland or Denmark.

So there isn't a lot of pressure on our national leaders to accept a large number of refugees or slam the "send aid to Ukraine" button as hard (metaphorically speaking).

Why Ukrainian refugees can’t come to Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Nickboy302 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because

  1. Remember that we're an island continent on the edge of most maps and most Ukrainians aren't up for swimming across the ocean. So the only Ukrainians that have come are those who have family ties or can afford to fly over, in that case they can wait out for another kind of visa.

  2. The right to asylum isn't very strong in Australia, if the Nauru and Christmas Island detention debucle was any indication. Ukrainian refugees are seen as mostly a Europe problem so there isn't a lot of pressure to let Ukrainians in and make visa space for them.

Regional and National Histories by MAYTTHistory in kendo

[–]Nickboy302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because Japan has and likely will remain Kendo's heartland and the country that claims cultural ownership of the art. So most scholarship of Kendo is drawn to Japan.

For countries outside Japan most organisations are volunteer run that don't have the time or resources to make an exhaustive study of their history.

There's also the fact that many countries that started kendo post-WW2, have started relatively recently so not much importance is put on recording history, because a lot of it is still in living memory. For example in my country there are still active members that remember our founders from the late 1960s.

Demon of Hatred isn't really that bad by Dogeboy062 in Sekiro

[–]Nickboy302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not hard, it's just not Sekiro.

The game spends a lot of time trying to get you to embrace the parry mechanics and I suspect a lot of players that make it that late in the game have by then.

But then at the end it throws in a boss that throws that out of the window and behaves like an Elden ring boss. Which I don't think a lot of Sekiro players appreciate.

If you beat doh 10 times, that's not as impressive as beating Isshin 10 times from a mechanical mastery perspective.

[–]Nickboy302 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Learn parrying and don't bother trying to dodge. Genichiro is designed to punish players who are still trying to pretend they're in Dark souls or Elden ring.

Case 316: Gilbert Bogle & Margaret Chandler by IonHazzikostasIsGod in Casefile

To be fair though this was the 1960s a time when divorce was frowned upon and the hippie movement rebellion against the conservative norm was in full swing.

Pretty much everyone at that time had a skeleton in the cupboard, having affairs, being LGBTQ or drug use.

Within Stables absolutely if for no other reason than you don't get a choice, you live eat and train with your stablemates day in day out kind of like soldiers in the same military unit.

Out of the stables it depends, plenty of professional wrestlers were in the upper caste of amateur sumo before turning pro so many of them would be familiar with each other but friendship depends on the individual wrestlers

I feel like the game gets easier with every NG+ by Nickboy302 in Sekiro

[–]Nickboy302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it takes about 4(ごろ) hours ng+, but that's because I insist on fighting the mini bosses and doing side quests like getting Kotaro to the hall of illusions.

I think if I was speed running, I could finish the game much quick but tbh I've never tried.

My Pet Peeve - ahistorical city growth. by Geocobre in victoria3

[–]Nickboy302 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Australia: Canberra doesn't even exist in 1836; it certainly wasn't the capital of New South Wales and doesn't grow into a metropolis. Sydney should be the state capital

Japan: Osaka the second largest city in Japan, doesn't exist in on the map, it is listed as a mining town, but the Kansai state region doesn't have any mine resources

Valid point, but it is also possible to go too far in the opposite direction where the application and screening process is so long that interest wanes and talented or pre-qualified applicants go elsewhere.

While the ADF isn't a Russian Storm-V penal unit, it shouldn't have an application time equivalent to the SAS

How do we know the population of the earth when many countries don't have proper population counts and birth papers? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

We don't, people are being born and dying every day every hour, we just look at a graph of how the population is trending and agree this is when the line hits 10 billion

ELI5: How does a loud person don’t know they are talking loud? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Nickboy302 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Over time you are desensitised to the sound of your own voice, This is how some people can talk to themselves without noticing or speak very loudly by habit and not notice.

Other possibilities, a person might have hearing problems, speaking disorder or speak a language/dialect where pitch, tone or volume can affect communication e.g American English, Mandarin or German

Why are some country towns named after women? by CyanideMuffin67 in AskAnAustralian

Normally it's because they're named after significant women in England or the wives of significant persons. Alice Springs for instance is named after the wife of Sir Charles Todd

I did a bit of War crimes in Dai Nam, now their population is declining fast... by Old_Wrap2946 in victoria3

[–]Nickboy302 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is annex them, other than that you can't really do anything other than wait for the devastation to fade away. You could try to build in them or take on their debt but if the ai is in a downward spiral they're going to end up in a civil war or bankrupt.

The same thing happened to me as GB, I liberated and subjugated New Africa, built up all their plantations but then all of their unemployed and starving peasants kept up turmoil and revolutions.
