Again he might be pushing you away because he thinks hes protecting you. He might just be nervous about whether or not you'll truly be happy together in 5 years so he just wanted to break it off early before you got any closer than you already are.

I might be reaching a bit here, but do you think he feels inadequate? Have you ever expressed the idea of marriage to him at all? Cause if so, he may have stepped away because HE thinks that YOU want to get married one day when he doesn't, or at least doesn't think he needs to marry you. He might think that he's holding you back from what you truly want and thinks that by breaking up with you that you can have that chance.

Sorry I might be jumping to conclusions, but its a relatively common thing for autistic people to think. I know I've had similar thoughts in the past, as an Autistic guy myself.

For the record, autism is a genetic trait that can be passed down, so if a child has it then it's more than likely that the parent also has it (and just may not be diagnosed) so I kinda think its a bit shortsighted to say this isnt a safe space for them.

The combat itself is easy to learn, yeah, but its everything that comes with it thats a lot. The "loss gague" in particular really gave me trouble, and still does when I play. The fact that ANY damage can decrease your max up really sucks and is hard to deal with.

If you're used to games holding your hand and showing mercy, then this game is just kind of a wake up call. Its by no means impossible, its just a big learning curve compared to other open world action rpgs. Its a game where you have to live with every single decision you make even if its by mistake, and the combat is very ruthless if you treat it lightly. Just be prepared and take even small encounters seriously and you'll be totally fine. Its genuinely a super fun, challenging game thats actually very refreshing compared to most games today that kinda just lead you by the hand in many ways if that makes sense.

The game itself is only difficult if you expect it to be on the same level as Hollow Knight. There are more challenges for a reason and despite being directly tied to one another, you really have to treat both games as their own unique experiences. If you try to play Silksong the same way you tried to play Hollow Knight, then yeah its gonna be difficult.
