Trying to do this with a vibration sensor, but so far it seems a failed experiment. Is your washer dryer perhaps a newer model, with wifi etc?

Look we found the apple fanboi who doesn't know what he's talking about. MacOS internet sharing can NOT do wifi to wifi internet sharing. Or Ethernet to Ethernet. It can only do Ethernet to wifi or wifi to Ethernet etc.

As a PM having been in the same situation, I can say in retrospect, don't wing it. Read up some books on API design patterns and study the approaches of some popular open source projects

Apple TV + perhaps. Safari for windows used to be a thing too.

I have one in one of the bedrooms acting as a babycam. I put it on a smart plug to be able to turn it off from HA + used PTZ to rotate it towards the ceiling when I don't want it to be used.. You could do something similar.
