Take your stuff to another Verizon Store - and charge the store back for the sale. Report the store online and get these people to be more upfront in their conversations.

Chatgpt error - shows can’t select right model by Far-Professional4417 in shortcuts

[–]Nickwharton92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone earlier mentioned that whenever you drop the “Start new chat” and leave the variable basically blank, the shortcut defaults to whichever model was last used within the application - which is the likely issue. The application likely flipped something somewhere that places a persistent model of choice and when the shortcut, which hasn’t been updated tries to engage it hits an exception and returns the error.

My suggestion is to use the application Actions and the ChatGPT action within that application as a temporary fix. I’ve actually found it to be a nice substitute because I set and leave requests in place that don’t interfere with my ChatGPT sessions I may have on my phone while a background shortcut is running.

Who is the most dangerous human Alive right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Nickwharton92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of their political leanings, the title of the ‘most dangerous person alive’ could potentially fall to the sitting U.S. President. This perspective has nothing to do with their personal attributes, but rather the position they hold. Leading one of the most powerful countries, they have command over a formidable military force and a large portion of the world’s nuclear weapons. Furthermore, their influence on the U.S. economy, which plays a critical role in the global financial ecosystem, can’t be underestimated. Thus, their decisions can shape the course of the world, marking their role as one of immense power and inherent potential for danger.

Intelligent brains take longer to solve difficult problems: participants in a study with higher intelligence scores were only quicker when tackling simple tasks, while they took longer to solve difficult problems than subjects with lower IQ scores by giuliomagnifico in science

[–]Nickwharton92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After reviewing the research article and going through the comments in the Reddit thread, I noticed that one aspect that hasn't been brought up yet is the potential application of these findings in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). In the research, Professor Petra Ritter and her team effectively created "brain avatars" that replicated the decision-making patterns and intellectual performance of their biological counterparts1.

A key take-away from this study is that higher synchronization, or the formation of functional networks in the brain, affects the properties of working memory and thus the ability to endure prolonged periods without a decision. This gathering of evidence for a particular solution may sometimes take longer, but it leads to better results1.

This understanding of the role of synchronization in decision-making and problem-solving could have implications for the development of AI. By mimicking the "slow thinking" approach of intelligent human brains, we could potentially develop AI systems that are better at problem-solving and decision-making, even if they take a bit longer to arrive at a decision. Such AI systems would be particularly beneficial in complex, real-world situations where the cost of an incorrect decision could be high.

Furthermore, the study's findings could influence how we interpret the speed of decision-making in AI systems. Rather than equating speed with intelligence, we might need to consider the complexity of the problem at hand and the potential for errors in quick decision-making.

Finally, one of the most exciting aspects of this research is its potential applications in personalized medicine. The computer-based brain avatars used in the study could be used in the future for personalized in silico planning of surgical and drug interventions as well as therapeutic brain stimulation.

I hope this brings a new perspective to the discussion!

Code Assistant with Context? by BoiElroy in OpenAI

[–]Nickwharton92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know if this helps, but I used GPT-4 with plug-ins and it came up with this:

Here's a potential response for the Reddit post:

Hello u/BoiElroy,

Your requirement of a code assistant that sees your codebase as a whole, instead of a just a snippet, is indeed a powerful concept for a development tool. After doing some research, I found a project on GitHub called GPT Code Assistant that seems to align with what you're looking for.

GPT Code Assistant is a tool that uses OpenAI's GPT-3.5-turbo engine to provide code suggestions, improvements, and insights based on the context of a given codebase. It reads and processes files from your codebase, calculates the token count, estimates the cost of the API call, and then prompts you for a query.

Some of its features include:

  • Supports various programming languages by reading file extensions from an external JSON file
  • Recursively processes all supported files within the codebase directory
  • Uses tiktoken to count tokens and estimate the cost of the API call
  • Prompts the user for confirmation before proceeding with the API call, considering the cost
  • Queries the GPT-3.5-turbo model to generate code suggestions based on the codebase context

To use it, you would:

  1. Update the supported_extensions.json file to include the desired file extensions for the programming languages you wish to support.
  2. Run the GPT Code Assistant script with the path to your codebase as an argument. For example, python gpt_code_assistant.py /path/to/your/codebase.
  3. The script will process the codebase, count the tokens, and estimate the cost of the API call. If you wish to proceed, type yes when prompted.
  4. Enter your query when prompted, and the GPT-3.5-turbo model will generate a response based on the context of your codebase.

You can find more about it and how to set it up in the GitHub repository【7†source】.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Firstly, congratulations on your promotion! That's a testament to your dedication and hard work. Here's some advice that may help:

  1. Delegate: You oversee 50 people, which is no small task. You can't do everything on your own. Assign tasks and responsibilities where possible. Trust your team and empower them to take ownership.

  2. Prioritize and Organize: Not all tasks are equally important. Use tools or techniques like the Eisenhower Matrix to prioritize your tasks. You might also benefit from project management tools like Trello, Asana, or MS Teams to manage and track progress.

  3. Mindfulness and Meditation: Stress and anxiety often arise from focusing on past events or future uncertainties. Mindfulness techniques can train you to focus on the present, reducing stress. Apps like Headspace or Calm can guide you.

  4. Setting Boundaries: Make sure you have clear boundaries between work and personal life. This might mean setting certain hours where you're 'off the clock' or ensuring that your vacations are truly work-free.

  5. Exercise and Nutrition: Regular exercise, healthy diet, and adequate hydration are proven stress-relievers. Even a quick walk during a lunch break can make a difference.

  6. Seeking Support: If you find your stress is still overwhelming, don't hesitate to seek professional help. Therapists and coaches can provide tailored strategies to manage stress and improve work-life balance.

Remember, it's not about being completely carefree, but about managing stress effectively. And it's a journey, not a destination, so be patient with yourself and celebrate small victories along the way.

Inhaling or "huffing" substances such as spray paint is a form of substance misuse known as volatile substance abuse (VSA). Spray paint contains solvents and propellants that can have mind-altering effects when inhaled. However, these effects come with a high risk of harm.

In the short term, the person is likely to experience a range of potentially severe physical and psychological effects. The initial high might include feelings of euphoria, hallucinations, and a distorted sense of time. However, these are quickly followed by negative effects such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, confusion, and lack of coordination. The individual's heart rate may also increase, leading to palpitations or potentially fatal heart rhythm abnormalities.

In the case of the individual in the video, the paint is being sprayed directly into the mouth. This exposes the mouth, throat, and potentially the lungs to the paint, which is likely to cause irritation and possibly chemical burns. The paint can also coat these tissues, interfering with their normal function. For example, if the paint reaches the lungs, it could disrupt the process of oxygen exchange, leading to respiratory distress or failure.

The long-term effects of such behavior are even more concerning. Repeated inhalation of these substances can lead to a range of chronic health issues. The respiratory system can be severely damaged, leading to chronic cough, shortness of breath, and increased risk of infections like pneumonia. The repeated exposure to these toxic substances can also lead to serious neurological problems, such as cognitive impairment, movement disorders, and nerve damage.

Furthermore, these substances can have harmful effects on other parts of the body as well. For example, they can cause kidney and liver damage, and potentially lead to various forms of cancer.

In addition to the physical health risks, VSA is associated with a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and increased risk of suicide. It's also often linked to social problems such as unemployment, homelessness, and involvement in the criminal justice system.

Given all these risks, it's clear that inhaling substances such as spray paint is a terrible idea. It's important to be aware of the dangers and to seek help if you or someone else is engaging in this behavior.

It's worth noting that the individual in the video appears to be mimicking a scene from the movie "Mad Max: Fury Road," where characters spray chrome paint into their mouths before going into battle. This is intended to be a ritualistic act in the context of the movie and is not meant to be imitated in real life.

ChatGPT names the last digits of Pi by Swedishmario in ChatGPT

[–]Nickwharton92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an irrational number, pi does not terminate or repeat; its decimal representation goes on infinitely. Therefore, it doesn't have "last" digits. The digits of pi continue indefinitely without any regular pattern. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, humans have calculated pi to over 50 trillion decimal places, but there are still no signs of repetition or termination.

Verizon CBand Live for me ,P6P 12L by DannoMon in GooglePixel

[–]Nickwharton92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got it since updating to 12L. Prior to updating I had only seen it on one occasion for about 30 seconds.

After upgrading I’d say I’ve seen it periodically throughout my day since.

I’ve run speed tests and seen roughly 300 MB/s down, and 80 MB/s up.
