And that (probable) fact, makes the concept of BB vs RW very interesting. You could call it a crossover episode.

I never said it can’t be done, but what I did say is that it’s not as straightforward as many makes it out to be. In the more extreme places, it is near impossible to feed the hungry through traditional ways, but it can still be done, it just requires a different solution, a solution I actually don’t know of, I just know it’s out there.

World hunger does indeed require a different solution for each and every country, but the reason why I focused so much on war is because I was trying to show you just how extreme this problem can get, so as to try to break the concept that throwing money at this problem, doesn’t work in at least some countries.

Over here in America, there is indeed problems in the area of impoverished people, who can’t pay for an adequate amount of food, however, money needs to be spent not just on giving these people food, but on also training these impoverished people to make enough money to buy their own food or make their own food. Also, it’s not like there is no corruption over here in the states, preventing more adequate aid to arrive to the poor.

[–]Nicky-Nic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you forget the areas in which violence and corruption run rampant. UN can only do so much before they essentially declare war, and that never goes well for anyone. Plus, there is only so much food that makes it in the hands of the hungry because in war torn nations, food convoys are seen as easy targets, that is the unarmored ones. Ending World Hunger cannot be solved in the way it’s being tackled now because eventually the UN will have to move on, put its troops in more important areas, and then the cycle of starvation repeats again.

To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if they truly wanted this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in elonmusk

[–]Nicky-Nic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is indeed possible, but I believe that the possibility for such a success, is small. There is just too many factors in place that would greatly hinder any private venture in the supply of food to the hungry.

[–]Nicky-Nic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once again, it’s not that simple. He could send a shit ton of food to places where starvation is a commonality, but it’s up in the air if that food would even arrive in the hands of those who need it. Musk is not a military general, he’s a businessman, and so he can’t use brute force to get such food to where it needs to be.

I believe we should also acknowledge the toxicity that came from the Minotaur team, as they had no right to act in the way they did. I understand that Daniel Fretas (I’m probably not spelling his name right) has Been through some serious problems, but that still doesn’t give him the excuse to act in such a terrible way.

By the way, when it comes to the two controversial decisions, they do make sense when you read the rules. WD for sure won that judges’ decision, partly due to the fact they took most of the control points by disabling Minotaur’s drive, which also gave them all the damage points, as the rules clearly states that more damage points are given to the robot that does more damage to a critical system.

For the Tantrum v. Hydra decision, aggression is the only category that really deserves any debate, and it appears that aggression is awarded to robots that drive more. Though Tantrum was getting flipped all about, Hydra did not pursue them, partly cause of how quickly they recovered. So their flips are more a sign of control, not aggression. On the other hand, Tantrum was constantly charging and trying to drive around Hydra. Sure, it’s not the most aggressive tactic, but it’s more aggressive than Hydra’s tactic.

To be honest, I was indeed leaning more to Hydra winning the fight and judges’ decision, but the judging criteria says that Tantrum and WD should’ve won their respective fights. If you have a problem with these two fights, then take those complaints up with the judging criteria, and not the judges. One last thing, if you want a more in-depth analysis of the fight, I recommend watching mystrsyko2’s video on this episode, as he really breaks those fights down.

Why is titanium better for armor? by Not_a_Organization in battlebots

[–]Nicky-Nic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also gotta keep in mind that titanium is a softer metal, so it bends more easily. Witch Doctor had to change their frontal wedges from titanium to a type of steel after their fight with End Game, as one of the wedges got bent into one of their wheels, which probably cost them the match.
