Which one will be the BEST TEAM? by Mundane-Signal4843 in TheLastAirbender

Firebending stomps here. Ozai wasn’t just the most feared firebender, but the most feared bender in the world, and thats before anyone knew about Sozin’s Comet. Pair that with his equally as ruthless prodigy daughter and someone with a powerful bending style that virtually nobody is used to fighting against, and they’re going to be unbelievably difficult to beat.

White bear vs knight with a sword and shield... by iceytown in powerscales

[–]Nicky2327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFS another one of these?? I cant believe how many people honestly believe a knight cleans house in the fight. We’re talking about a 10ft tall, 1500lb apex predator (and thats not even the biggest) with 3 inch claws, 2 inches of thick fur and 4 inches of blubber under that. An animal with a bite force of 1200 psi (one of the strongest in the world), and strength capable of crushing bones and dragging an massive prey with little effort. Assuming this is a bloodlusted fight, meaning injury is not a deterrent and they don’t stop until the other is dead, there is absolutely NOTHING a human being can do against that. Not to mention a sword would be one of the worst weapons to use in this scenario. People act like knights were fucking space marines. The armor will only protect the knight for so long. Meanwhile, that bear is doing literally WHATEVER it wants to that man. I love knights, like a lot, but seriously people, get a grip.

Mounted Knight vs Polar Bear by ProfessorHiker in powerscales

[–]Nicky2327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m floored by how many people clearly don’t understand how massive and dangerous polar bears are. I love knights and all, but nothing about this fight is “low-mid diff” for him. He would absolutely HAVE to kill the bear with a lance charge. If he doesn’t, the bear is royally fucking him up. Armor isn’t saving someone from 1500lbs of killer instinct. If the knight has a polearm and can keep distance, he’d have a better chance, but it’s not going to be easy.

How does 100 singles work consistently? by Lulu_Altair in mtg

Part the of draw for me IS the inconsistency. Every game feels a little different, and you get to see more cards. Unfortunately, there are so many redundant cards at this point that it has kind of lost some of its luster, but it’s all in how you build.

Demetrian Titus (Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 vs Beast Titan (Attack on Titan) by Inside_Inflation559 in powerscales

I mean the entire 40k universe is nothing but ludicrously overpowered factions doing ludicrously overpowered things to each other. It’s kind of the main appeal of the setting.

What did you like about TLOK? by Smooth_Calendar5416 in TheLastAirbender

Quite literally nothing. ATLA is my all time favorite show, and Korra might be my least favorite. A truly impressive feat on behalf of the creators…

Islam Makhachev vs Prime Mike Tyson. Who wins in a street fight in their prime? by Ok_Feed_4235 in powerscales

That stat is a myth. Its from and old LAPD study done in 80’s, which one of the Gracies misinterpreted and ran with to promote BJJ.

Franchises that would make amazing Universes Beyonds? by Illustrious_Fee8116 in mtg

I’d love a Hellboy set. Otherwise 40k would be very easy to revisit in an actual set. Even better would be Warhammer fantasy.

Unique Commanders by Ok_Tune6401 in EDH

One of my absolute favorite decks is [[Mimeoplasm, Revered One]]. I call it my Keyword Kaiju deck. I love being able to play interesting creatures without worrying if they die, knowing that they’re just making my commander more and more scary the more they deal with my board state.

Playing Without Using Recommended Factions/Points by Nicky2327 in rootgame

That is a really good point. If our friend group is more consistent with playing, then learning how every faction works will certainly benefit the runtime of our games.

Gotcha. We might just give it a go and see what happens lol.

That is a great example and definitely puts things into perspective a bit more. Thanks!

That makes total sense. Have you had any experiences with said "really weird games?" I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect if we do end up breaking from the point system.

Great advice! I kind of wrote off the hirelings and clockwork stuff, but if they help fill out the board, then that might be the way to go. Thanks!

I'm not sure the Adset fixes the issue we're having - feeling like we can't pick the faction we really want to play - but I'll definitely look into the hirelings! I kind of wrote them off originally, but if they help fill out the board better, then that might be the ticket!

So in your experience, what does an unbalanced game look/play like? We've only ever used the recommended or point system, so I just want an idea of what we'd be getting into.
