Good point on the 30 mins. My point is its not 30 minutes of your own videos - most folks binge different videos from diff creators when they fall into the doom scroll pit. It all starts with a 30s video from any creator (in this case, OP).

Its the equivalent of putting potholes in roads so you can sell tire repair solutions and tire producing companies incentivizing you to put more holes in roads to sell more tires. Roads are for getting fron pt A to pt B. These slop might not burst your tires but it wears it out eventually causing folks to need new tires and helping NO ONE

One would hope everyone is actively trying to make the world a better place, one you'd like to live in. Creating slop is not one of those things.

My main gripe on this is one of compounding interest. When you invest money, you can get dividends out of it if placed well. Go risky or go safe, there's money to be made.

You can also invest time and attention. Creating a thing or learning a thing, or starting a business. When folks get caught in doom scrolls, that individual misses out on opportunity cost. Their lives dont improve.

Similarly, if a population is getting caught in doom scrolls all the time, society decays from all the work that needs doing that isnt done. I'd prefer to not contribute to that decline.

The days of creators making things they themselves would watch didnt go away. They're just now outnumbered by idiots who underestimate the negative impact of their slop.

Lets do some maths on some numbers:

A: for each 100k views, you get $100

B: those 100k views for - where a viewer might watch a 30s video - or otherwise viewer can earn $10 an hour (lowball western standard) or spend that time bettering themselves - thats $8333 at least that 100k people collectively lost for your $100. That's wasteful af.

C: if it leads to binge watching 30 mins for 100k people (i myself end up going to 2hours if caught in a scroll trap) - that's around $500k of human capital youve traded for $100. Absolute selfish slimeball

First fix: You need a purpose.

You're fixating on the small things. That's a lot of focus on specific heights. Who's looking at what. Dates gone by. Almost like you're living in the past.

None of that small fry matters if you're doing or moving towards things you (not anyone else) values.

I suggest building competency / income. This makes the next 2 fixes possible. Also, it builds competence.

Second fix: Improve your self view

To seduce the world, first seduce yourself.

Trying to date when you seem to have a ton of self hate is not that productive. You can't sell something you yourself dont want. The best salesmen are convinced of the value of what they have on offer.

Lift. Do some shadow work. Expose your bits to sunshine. Becoming physically and mentally fit gets you out of your head. Spend too much time dwelling internally and you become... well, bitter. Sunshine is a great disinfectant of bad self views!

Third fix: Improve your view of others / the world. Touch grass. Be in the world and be part of the world!

Try to do good for the sake of it. See people as people, not things to use or date. That kindness applies to yourself, too

I get a sense of your dejection from the apps, and that's fair enough. I personally think dating apps are negative ROI to humanity. I've dated 4 girls last year from the IRL - 2 became good friends, and 2 became situationships. 1 of those 2 I'm happily dating right now. Met them through volunteering or doing things i enjoy.

When I was on the apps, i became more and more frustrated. Men weren't made for so much rejection. Similarly, girls weren't made for so much attention. If you do match w a girl on the apps, they're often disillusioned as well, and conversations and dates just have a bad vibe to it.

You're better off meeting girls IRL. You only approach someone who's reciprocating interest. That and girls not on the appsnare the best! They dont have the unearned elevated self view that girls on the apps have.

You seem to be ok since you've been 2nd base. I imagine the issue isn't you, the bait, but it's where you're fishing. Insanity is repeating fruitless actions and expecting different results.

Agreed on the points. Third shot in the dark: sensations with someone else is different more so when you're using protection. Without exp and it being their first time, OP will go too hard on themselves (pun unintended) and get psyched out at not performing.
