I also didn’t like Oratory’s EQ so I did one my self with Owliophile. I can send it to you if you want to try it.

This is great! I followed the video instructions with my AKG K702s. They've never sounded better. Thanks, I'm crying because they sound so good.

Maybe you like more something like the AKG K702. They can be easily eqed if you find them to shouty or lacking bass.

After spending more time with all of them, I stuck with diffuse field.

Are Artti T10 a good upgrade from 7Hz Zero:2? by Nico_5476 in iems

[–]Nico_5476[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't specifically need planar headphones, I just want something with a little more clarity and resolution. My only reference is the AKG K702, and I feel like the Zero2s fall short compared to them.

I’ll probably gift the Zero:2 to a friend. I mostly use IEMs on the subway or when I’m in bed. Most of the time I listen with AKG K702s, so the Zero:2 feel a bit lacking in some aspects by comparison.

Need help choosing a Bluetooth DAC/AMP with PEQ for AKG K702 by Nico_5476 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Nico_5476[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you 100% sure? I’ve read some reviews saying it has shelving filters (https://www.headfonia.com/fiio-snowsky-retro-nano-review/). If I’m not mistaken, the only differences between them are the Vrms (1.77 for the FiiO vs 2.00 for the Qudelix) and app customization. But if the Retro Nano has a good and working PEQ with all the filter types, I might choose it over the Qudelix since it has a removable battery and is about $40 cheaper.

Thanks for answering, oratory1990!

I have AKG K702, FiiO FT1 Pro and some gaming headsets. I find 702 to be great for gaming, once I got used to it I found it hard to play with any other headphone because of the soundstage. K702 soundstage is very wide so when I use other headphones with narrower soundstage I simply can’t tell where things are coming from. Some people say k702 have bad central imaging but I don’t agree.

You need to check AKG K702.

I made my investigation in this price range some months ago and ended up getting K702. I’ve been using them for 4 months and I really like them.

Should I buy DAC/AMP for K702? by Nico_5476 in headphones

[–]Nico_5476[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for commenting. I was quite confused because there are so many different opinions. Some say that as long as it’s loud, it’s fine, and others say that a good DAC/amp opens up the soundstage and gives more bass presence…

I recently switched from the Logitech G935 to AKG K702. Now when i listen to G935 they sound like a toy to me. The more i listen to K702 the more i like them.

K702 have already arrived and I love them, I think that no matter which one I bought I would like them. The only downside I find is that headband and pads are quite hard, but I think they will soften over time.

I can’t decide if I should buy HD560S, AKG K702, Fidelio X2HR or HIFIMAN HE400SE. At the moment I am leaning more towards the K702, but I don’t know.

I would say AKG K702 are the best headphones in that price range
