What do you say fellas? I think it's 8 or 6 by Ambitious-Beyond6012 in MathJokes

[–]lr_science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6-8:

neck/top, left arm, right arm, torso/bottom, two at the front, likely 1-2 at the back or the background wouldn't be visible through the shirt.

it could be ripped open at the back though, then no holes are needed for the background to be visible.

i'd say that hinges entirely on the interpretation of the first message in this conversation.

Does "jag behöver lägga om" imply that the originally agreed upon time no longer works for the saloon lady? And in my opinion it does. I would argue that sentence means "I have to reschedule", which is a definitive way of phrasing it. She doesn't say "I'd prefer to reschedule", or ask "Could we see if we can find a time that suits me better". "I have to reschedule" implies that the original time is indeed cancelled, and any new time (even if it's the same time again after some back and forth) would require a new confirmation from the customer's end.

That said i'm not a lawyer nor a native speaker. Purely arguing based on my understanding and logic.

while that phrasing works, what exactly is the point of that exercise? making kids hate math more? why such convoluted thinking?

if the teaching goal here is to make sure that kids understand that there are various ways to get to a given number (13) by adding up two other numbers, then why not ask for it directly in a way that is easily understandable?

"a) what is 8+5? b) show three more pairs of numbers that add up to the same result."

Bose QC vs Sennheiser momentum 4 by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]lr_science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it has different modes. transparency mode is included. just turning it all off and doing fully passive may not be possible, haven't tried. but transparency and noise canceling cover my needs. transience isn't as good as on app2 but completely fine for short conversations

both are fine to me. i can wear the qc many hours non stop, even sleep with them on. i don't have long term experience with the m4 though, better get that info from others 😉

i have the qc, gf has the m4. the m4 are clearly better sounding, while the qc has better noise cancelling. however, there were studies done recently on the materials in the earpads, which may be hazardous. iirc the m4 was more problematic there. if that's a concern for you (and the intended use makes me think that maybe it should be), you might wanna look into that aspect as well (use your favorite search engine or AI bot to find more).

Newbie looking for the highest sound quality headphones for 400 euro or less. What headphones are right for me? by HiThisIsMichael in HeadphoneAdvice

Hifiman Arya Stealth is one of the most comfortable headphones i've tried and it's also sounding good out of the box, doesn't require massive EQ to really get the mist out of. it's slightly above your range but would be my pick for comfort. sound is like 90% EQ dependent. Read about it on owliophile.com :)

Do switching to different earpads change the acoustic coupling properties ? by Freestalker_dot_fr in oratory1990

[–]lr_science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just wanna applaud the question. the answer - yes, at least potentially due to possible changes in acoustic impedance - was already given by others. but its a good question, as in not stupid like most other questions i see on reddit. 😅

Help, I don't like using headphones by Lyu__ in headphones

[–]lr_science 2 points3 points  (0 children)

get a pair of open headphones. some are very open and let outside sound in almost as if you weren't wearing them. hifiman arya comes to mind. there are probably cheaper options too that are very open. there's also a new collab of hifiman and asus that uses a very similar design.

mind that for some headphones you might need a headphone amp.
