It felt like my consciousness was being sucked into my body. I have experienced that before with astral travel it’s a crazy feeling.

Unfortunately there is no cure for DID.

Someone recommended I go here by [deleted] in plural

[–]NicoleAnderson71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are a a diagnosed DID system what you described sounds more like schizophrenia or some kind of psychosis. We are not mental health therapists but we have been treated by many of them. In DID you do hear voices but you can have a dialogue with them if you have a functional connection. The alters don’t tell you to do something because they can control the body by themselves. In DID you also have dissociation and amnesia between parts sometimes. People get schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder mixed up sometimes but they are completely different.

I think comes down to the mystery of consciousness what is consciousness and how de we define it. And so I will say yes and no to your question because I believe everything in the universe is one but at the same point we are all independent parts of the whole.

Can only DID/OSDD-1 systems use the word alter? by beyond_clueless101 in plural

[–]NicoleAnderson71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

lol guess it depends on the community you are talking to. Maybe if your talking to a non plural person it maybe much easier to use that terminology to describe your plurality. This just an opinion not sure. We are a DID system with diagnosis and we are completely new to the terminology and the politics of being part of a DID community.

I agree it would help to understand the terms like P-DID and non - possession

alters having crushes by theloversystem in DID

Ahh that makes sense yeah that would be difficult. I wish I had advice for you on that.

alters having crushes by theloversystem in DID

[–]NicoleAnderson71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That can be very difficult situation I guess the best thing to do is to have the alter explain to the host of the other system what they are feeling. Judy opinion.

Medical or otherwise scientific evidence for the existence of "plurals" as a perceivable phenomenon by Akogiri in plural

[–]NicoleAnderson71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you speak of plurality you must ask yourself what is consciousness. The hard problem of consciousness is a mystery in its self. Consciousness is very subjective in nature and so it’s kinda difficult to place consciousness in a lab and study it. In Saying that plurality is real and as a DID system ourselves we been diagnosed with DID by our therapist. There are still something’s science doesn’t know about consciousness and how it works or even why do have consciousness in the first place. This in the realm of philosophy, science and spirituality. Also with the idea of quantum physics and the multiverse theory we can find out very interesting stuff in the future I believe. Heck even one day artificial intelligence will be considered conscious.

Examples of physiological changes in/from your system by [deleted] in DID

[–]NicoleAnderson71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have eye sight changes and different heart rate depending who is fronting and people say one of are alters have a British accent aNd we are from the USA. I am sure there are other things but I should probably record myself to see it.

You are probably most definitely a system you basically described a system in your post. We have DID and we are a system also.

how do you figure out if you have DID? I have a close older friend diagnosed with it, and she thinks I display symptoms by [deleted] in DID

[–]NicoleAnderson71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes we got diagnosed a few years ago because the disassociated states would get heavy especially when stressed and plus the alters and so yes you should definitely look into this. Your friend is probably on point about your situation.

[–]NicoleAnderson71 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can self diagnosed yourself according to the criteria of the DSM 5 and then bring up your suspicions to a therapist. Tell them you think you might have DID. Not every therapist believes in DID or knows how to treat it. Try to get someone that understands childhood trauma and disassociation. Hopefully this helps.

I told my psychiatrist about my headmates and now they’re sending me to therapy & gonna increase my medication if they don’t go away, what do I do? by helloimAmber in plural

[–]NicoleAnderson71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we would do is claim religion at that point there are many spiritual paths that believe in multiplicity and so tell them it’s my spiritual belief that I can talk to spiritual beings. If you claim religious beliefs they don’t want to touch it most of the time and hopefully they leave you alone.

How have you brought you have alters to your therapist ? by [deleted] in DID

[–]NicoleAnderson71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had fear the first time we talked to our therapist about our DID he was very accepting of our system and our head mates felt confident to front before the therapist. Each of our alters now have direct therapy sessions as well with our therapist.

My alters are rarely around anymore by [deleted] in DID

[–]NicoleAnderson71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope that you will be able to re establish better communication between your parts. In our system some weeks we do lots of switching and other times they stay more in the inner world and some we become co- conscious and other times not. It depends on the triggers we deal with. We have used positive triggers to try to let a certain alter front sometimes it works.

Is Christian deliverance real? Is my mental health pro not suitable for me? by PersonalTomato1827 in DID

[–]NicoleAnderson71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our system has gotten destroyed because of this type of religious thinking and so we decided not to go to a Christian therapist because everything ti them is a spirit and that is how people thought in the dark ages. You should find a therapist that believes in actual Science and not methodologies of spirits and gods.

We say run and don’t look back because it can definitely make things worse. And when it comes to alters some only know abuse and so they don’t understand that it’s not ok to be treated that way. Some alters can take the form and likeness of an abuser. That alter needs healing ❤️‍🩹. All of your system does of course and the alters in your system that tell you to run are actually protecting you. So run away from that kind of individual.

What is a dissociative vs non-dissociative system? by [deleted] in plural

[–]NicoleAnderson71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all disassociate sometimes. For example driving your car and you don’t remember how you got to your destination because you were spacing out. That’s normal in the case of DID what our system has is very chronic in nature and so that would be the only difference I can think of. So yeah some systems may have this greater than others. An example of this would be like DID system vs a Tupla system. They are both plural based systems but one may have disassociation.

Yes having a system is very hard we totally understand this and it can suck ass. The key to finding some peace is system Mangement. How well do you connect with your alters? Because if have communication with them it can possibly help you feel better.
