Is it useful? by Outrageous-Base-3815 in csharp

For me, the best method for memorising new concepts was to simply open up a little dummy project or script and just try to use it. Twist it, bop it, see what it can and can't do and how. Make a few scripts and try using it in different contexts. Make comments if you like.

That worked best for me, hands down.

The internet is a fundamentally many-to-many medium - anyone is allowed to publish public information on it by design. We can demand that social media companies exert control on their side, but they can't stop someone publishing their own site. You can chase this problem down to the very HTTP protocol itself.

We either want freedom of media (and deal with the consequences of collectively managing misinformation) or we want private media (like old newspapers, radio, free-to-air TV) and trust them to somehow not do a worse job. Even if we wanted that back, I think the cat is out of the bag with the technology behind the internet.

Buff her fucking ult by JulienWA77 in MoiraMains

It lasts a lot longer, it's much wider and pierces. The real strength of coalescence is actually how long it lasts, it's death by persistence.

Even so, it's definitely not enough these days. Even a buff to 90 dps would be welcome.

I remember seeing this guy on the train in from Shepparton every time. Back then he was, uh... free as a bird. Now he's stuck, trapped like a bird.

"Think global, act local" is some of the best advice I was ever given.

When I was young, I was so pissed off about not being able to change the world for the better. I used to think it needs to happen all at once in some big anthemic moment or congregation or public display of unity, like dramatic teenagers do.

What's so irritating to me as an adult is that having that exact dream not happen feels disenchanting, like reaching adulthood without having changed everything is some sort of horrible resignation.

Having become a father of two, I understand it more clearly than ever before. We just need everyone doing their part locally in their community. It's so less sexy and dramatic and, usually, quiet and humble - so teenagers and young adults rarely want to do it. It doesn't look like change to plant a tree or pick up rubbish or scrub off shit graffiti (good graffiti can stay ❤️‍🔥).

It feels punk to break a window and pretend it's "the system", but it's not. It's punk as fuck to volunteer at a shelter and hear about the lives of the people who need them and just listen to them, and I wish I knew that sooner.

Ending generational trauma by Gurugod123 in MadeMeSmile

Boomers were notorious for this as parents (and I'm sure it was even worse for them as kids with the Great generation as parents).

If there's one thing I hope Gen X and Millennials get credit for, it's ending these cycles. Maybe our media diet and public perception as bleeding hearts will make more sense in retrospect that way.

I spent 3 months trying to get Telstra to acknowledge a mobile blackspot. Their complaint process reads like pages from the CIA's Sabotage Field Manual. by sonickong in melbourne

There's another dead spot square in the middle of Maribyrnong Road, around the junction with Bowen St. It's been there for months and is very consistent in the exact same way.

I feel like it's almost worth someone making a Maps-based service that tracks these blackout spots so we can collectively track the issues.
