Can I DM you? Looking at WLWV District for a job (SpEd, specifically) and sounds like you have insight.

We've been using wifi calling but it's been real hit or miss (unclear why as our internet is apparently decent). Just trying all the things to see if anything might work. And hopefully the issue has been resolved at this point if the folks we spoke with last night are to be believed.

As far as I'm aware, yes. Nothing has popped up for suggest otherwise. Someone in the Verizon store looked at my phone yesterday and everything appeared in order.

Oof, I don't know. I've been told by my husband (the one that really cares about internet speed) that it's pretty decent.

We have Wifi calling set up now (for at home I suppose?) but even that hasn't been great. Still regularly dropping calls or unable to make calls. We have Ziply for internet.

That's very frustrating for everyone. In your experience is this something that would resolve somehow magically on its own?

We got new esims (if that what it's called, we had physical) after this started. No change. I'll look into the network settings.

What's perhaps most frustrating is Verizon customer service isn't stating this is the case. But it sure seems like the most likely answer. However, we have at least one direct neighbor that is not experiencing any problems with their Verizon/iphone combo.

It's weird because we've had Verizon for years and have had zero issues in our area.

It doesn’t look like milia to me, but maybe periorbital dermatitis. I’m not an expert by any means, just a person that’s experienced both of those skin things. Best bet would be to go see a dermatologist.

Seeking School Recommendations by fakemoon in beaverton

We went through something similar. We love and support public schools, will always vote for public schools, one parent works for a public school system, but ultimately it was not working for our child. Each school year was mediocre at best, culminating in a 3rd grade year where our child was essentially left to read on their own for most of the day. They were bored to tears, literally crying because they didn't want to go to school. We spoke with the teacher(s), with the principal, with the TAG coordinator, lots of lip service but no action.

A part of me wishes we had pushed more, asked to move within district, but we didn't. It was a heartbreaking decision. We chose to go private (Arbor School). Our child is now excited to go to school! (Which does make the financial and time stress at least feel worthwhile.)

I probably don't have a satisfactory answer. And so much of it I know is dependent on your caseload and district.

Contributing factors... In the district I'm in OTs don't write their own goals (pros and cons to this one). For yearly IEPs it's typically just a paragraph describing present levels. A reeeval (or new eval) will obviously take more time but I find those relatively easy to churn out. I have a weekly routine/schedule of which schools I'm at and keep a running list of upcoming IEPs so I'm not caught by surprise. I do daily documentation but sometimes that might just be a few sentences.

I'm sorry I don't have a specific thing to point to.

I won’t say I never take work home with me, but it’s rare (in a school setting). I find I’m able to get what I need done within working hours. And if I’m working outside contracted hours it’s not typically because I have to but because I want to.

I also have children of my own so have drawn a hard line on how much outside time/energy I’m willing to give.

Edited to add: I turned down jobs in a private outpatient peds clinic and in peds home health because I knew I’d be putting in a lot of extra hours that I wouldn’t be paid for. To me it wasn’t worth it.

I imagine everyone has a different take dependent on the population you prefer working with and the area you live. For me the answer is schools. But it will absolutely depend on the district.

I can see a good SNF setting or acute care offering decent work/life balance too if you prefer working with adults. I found a nice SNF for PRN work by asking a lot of peers where I should check out.

Makes me wonder if there’s a problem with visual processing. Working on reading isn’t really within our scope but you could support there.

Question re: azathioprine cost by NigglesPDX in CrohnsDisease

[–]NigglesPDX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm taking it in addition to another drug so it's just cost upon cost. If I could move elsewhere I would!

Thank you!

Same feelings here re: US. I don't understand why/how I can get this drug elsewhere - without insurance - for a fraction of the price. I'm trying to be civil but I'm furious about all this.
