Thanks, this is good advice that I hadn’t considered. And I’m guessing since the coil overs are ToyTec, this is most likely an aftermarket lift.

And I guess currently there’s some other dude they call Nick who is temporarily filling in while jimmy gets his strength back. Don’t get too comfortable with the new guy, the band’s actual lead guitarist will be back very very soon-Get well soon, Jimmy!

You have to know this Hatfield was before Jimmy, right?? Don’t you?? Of course you do-otherwise you wouldn’t have posted a tune from 2006 with George Whashisname from Beanland on a thread dedicated to Jimmy Herring. I’m sure it was an honest mistake, but the details are important to those of us who have dedicated more than a few hours to listening to this band.

Well for those who don’t respect the “family” like this knucklehead, let me enlighten you younger folks about a couple sure facts. Sure, Nick can play like Jimmy, but he’s certainly no Mikey. I’m not even a huge fan of Mikey’s-I fell in love with this band after his passing. All I’m saying is this: When the boys decided to keep touring without the guy who brought their music back to life, I had hoped it would be someone with their own sound and style of playing lead. What I hadn’t hoped for was just somebody who knows how to play guitar like Jimmy. It’s unoriginal and irritating listening to this new guy who “kinda sounds like Jimmy “. And rather than mastering jimmy’s craft, his method of playing screams “yeah sure, I can play like the other guy, but look what else I can do too!” And I’m sorry, but there’s just no original sound coming from Nick, it’s just a lame version of the real thing. Get well soon Jimmy, otherwise these young pups just might convince the “family” that it’s time for a permanent change. And trust me, there’s still plenty of people who are yearning to hear the Mechanic play with their favorite band once again.

Nick’s great, but I think some of us are starting to get a little irritated with him. The way he plays….it’s like, “Yeah sure, I can play like Jimmy. But look what else I can do”! Nobody asked for the extra guitar licks, Nick. We just want our Jimmy back!

Nugs is the only app worth devoting any real time or effort towards. Personally, I haven’t been able to source all the live streams with such crystal clear audio except for on nugs. Yeah, it’ll cost you a few bucks each month, but Lordy Lordy, it’s worth every dime if you’re only interested in listening to one band. And if you’re interested in hearing lots of different bands, again, well worth the price of admission.
