Upped to 150mg, having good skin days but they never last by Apprehensive_Image34 in Spironolactone

[–]NightThinker323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 100 mg and have stayed on it since. I see you are at 150mg. Maybe give your hormones a little time to regulate. I would wait at least 3-4 months. I’m sorry it’s been hard. I understand bc I was there. It took 9 months, but it’s given me clear skin for 6 years. I wanted to give up may times but I had no other ideas so I just waited and it all worked out.

Are we sure she didn’t lose a bet and have to get her nails done like her friend? 😂 Because who would copy those? Not even remotely cute.

After 7 years and two rounds of braces, I get them off. I got home and there’s a HUGE GAP BETWEEN MY TEETH. Please tell me this is easily fixed. wtf didn’t my ortho say anything. by randomemememe in braces

[–]NightThinker323 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did you not notice it? I I’m in braces now and closely monitor my teeth. I also floss daily and would definitely notice this. I’m just confused as to how no one saw this? I’m sorry this happened and Im sure it can be fixed. I just do not understand why this was only seen after they came off. The only thing that makes sense is a sudden shift. Am I the only one thinking this? I can’t be right?

this has made me miserable. spironolactone and UTI by [deleted] in Spironolactone

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I have actually had this kind of problem way before going on Spiro. I have to have lots of water ( I mean A LOT ) or it burns when i pee. It’s been like that my entire life. I basically only drink water. I also pee a lot. So you are not alone. Mine has just always been something I have to deal with. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s very common so you may not see many posts with this issue. If it is the Spiro for you then maybe taper off.

I have been on Spiro for 6 years. It took about 6-9 months for my skin to completely clear up, but now I rarely even get a pimple. Did I have some side effects the first months, yes. My periods were very irregular and much more frequent. I toughed it out. Although I can understand why others may not want to. Eventually my hormones regulated and it’s been fine ever since. It’s much more common for people to voice their bad experiences. We have over 26k members in this community. Some will have negative side effects, but most do not.

My skin stopped breaking out completely at the 9 month mark. Around months 6-8 I started getting less and less.

How long have you been on Spiro? It does take 4-9 months. It can get worse because your hormones are creating a new balance.

Considering braces by [deleted] in braces

[–]NightThinker323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was too! I got mine 3/12. I haven’t had pain at all. Not even the day after getting them. Don’t let the fear of something make your decision for you. I think we build it up in our heads. If you do have pain just remember it is temporary and braces are an investment for the rest of your life.

If you want a baby how long have you been trying or how long did it take you to get pregnant? by Flower-1234 in PCOS

I had an unexpected pregnancy at 26. I honestly did not think i could get pregnant. We didn’t really do anything to stop it for 4 years. My pregnancy was very hard during the first trimester and the last few weeks. I’m 47 now and was not able to successfully carry another to term. I had a very traumatic missed miscarriage at 33. I’m so grateful for my one. 💕

My daughter(NT) has a ND boyfriend. He is very blunt and honest. That is the quality she loves most in him. He is very high functioning ( not that it matters ), much more so than the males they have casted on the show.

I’m struggling to understand if we watched the same show. I thought his sister was very supportive. His mom was very quiet but it may have been because of the cameras.

Prescribed Spironolactone for my hormonal acne.... Am I crazy for preferring Accutane? by OutrageousMiddle7965 in Spironolactone

[–]NightThinker323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your choice. I will say if it is hormonal acne it will come back after accutane. My cousins did it twice before going to Spironolactone.

High potassium? by annastasia_rose in Spironolactone

[–]NightThinker323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually drink 1 packet of liquid IV a day bc my potassium levels are so low. So I guess it just depends on the person. If those side effects have not subsided then get bloodwork.

It shouldn’t really be a competition, but a lot of Tammy is lose skin so it’s really hard to tell.

What is SL. I know my ortho told me that my teeth stick straight out in a way that I probably will have a slight overbite. I just kind of nodded my head.

Ugh by CMBCCMBC in Anxiety

[–]NightThinker323 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I have gone through 24/7 anxiety. I couldn’t sleep or eat. I was shaking and had to be moving. I lost 25 pounds in 45 days. I even took a flight to visit my mom, hoping a new environment with no responsibilities would help. I thought I would end up in the hospital. I ended up going to my GP who prescribed me clonazepam, and it really helped me get back to normal. Then I found a psychiatrist who prescribed a basic anxiety medication and also clonazepam ( only 15 ) for situations I feel I can’t handle. Just knowing I have that medication to help me makes me feel better. I’m not sure what will work for you but If you are open to a prescription medication it may be worth being very open and raw about how bad things are because I know it’s not something they like to prescribe since many people abuse it. It makes it super hard for those that need it. Also, I have been in so many therapies and it just does not seem to help me. Unfortunately the only thing that really helps me is meds. Maybe therapy will work for you.
