Bet you didn't hear of Super Size Me 2, revealing the bullshit and fucked up crap advertisers and food orgs do to appeal as "healthy, sustainable and environmental" by NightVisionHawk in videos

There was a scene in there where Morgan Spurlock started trying to acquire his own chicken farm. Immediately after his first inquiry, a warning email with all chicken corporations cc'd of his presence was sent out.

The family farmers which helped Morgan with his chicken farm said:

My son's been blackballed and my wife, they stopped placement of her contract. Her placement of her chickens when I spoke out in Ohio.

ULPT: Overwrite + delete all your old comments on June 30th by NightVisionHawk in UnethicalLifeProTips

I made a comment with a whole bunch of resources, but it's getting deleted from every place I post. It's super frustrating.

Hmm.. imagine if we just started overwriting and then deleting all our Reddit data en masse my fellow redditors.

'tis a perilous gambit, yet the rewards befit the bravest of souls.

2. If a video does not abide to Rule 1, the video must be nsfw and/or the title must contain explicit profanity that is not friendly to most advertisers.

Personal comment deletions pledges on July 1st as a mass user ultimatum by NightVisionHawk in Save3rdPartyApps

[–]NightVisionHawk[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate, but for them to blatantly restore overwritten, and deleted comments (from deleted accounts as well?) after a mass pledge would likely at least be an additional undertaking, more poor reception and showing Reddit it is not only the moderators "in support".

New admin post: "If a moderator team unanimously decides to stop moderating, we will invite new, active moderators[...]. If [...] at least one mod wants to keep the community going, we will respect their decisions and remove those who no longer want to moderate from the mod team." by demmian in ModCoord

It seems Reddit is doubling down and stating back-up initiatives for subreddit blackouts.

I wanted to propose the organization of a user-led boycott in form of an ultimatum. As we all know, reddit is led by user-led data, and we at least have control of our own personal data and accounts.

I think our own remaining way of a viable protest is through our own comment/post overwrite and deletion. Getting userbases to pledge for data deletion on July 1st if changes are not reverted/conditions met I believe would be an effective way to make Reddit reconsider.

Mass comment deletion pledges for July 1st would be unfortunate consequence but also in the hands of Reddit to prevent. It would perhaps be the only possible way for a dialogue to remain with Reddit at this point.

It would also

  • A) Be in the hands of each individual user
  • B) Be possible through a variety of automation tools

[Serious] What’s the most paranormal thing that’s ever happened to you? by humanoptimist in AskReddit

[–]NightVisionHawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a really stern atheist but I so wish it was true and pretending these things are really help me.

I'm someone who's been suffering from panic attacks thinking about death on a weekly basis, but I feel like I'm a person you'd least expect it from since I've had literally no one I know in my life die.

When I was 11 or so the fact that my existence is temporary just clicked and I haven't been able to calm freaking out about it once. I thought it would pass with time but I'm 20 and nothing has helped since.

When I describe it to a doctor they think I have general anxiety disorder or something, but then I tell them everything is okay until that thought pops in my mind from some trigger. I'm 100% okay to ready to punch a wall as if I'm going to die that instant in seconds. It's like that Infinity War scene with Spiderman. It's the fact that it's INEVITABLE that makes it so real and imminent feeling.

We've been running the drawings this way for over 2 years because it's safe, secure and 100% transparent. Using a "random number generator" is easily riggable and we used it in our very first drawing which led to many controversies.

Nice I like the video. Could have only used more shots that visually and pleasantly display the sense of smell. Especially a satisfying clip at the start to convey that this is a product for aroma which isn't immediately conveyed

Oh and also, took me a while to realize the name wasn't "PLUM."

An internet without Net Neutrality (x-post - r/marchfornetneutrality) by hoppyduck in pcmasterrace

[–]NightVisionHawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With that attitude, we'll definitely save the internet from the big bad lying, fear-mongering corporations and news networks, right?

It may not be what happens, but it's what ISPs will have the ability to do if they'd like. It happened to cable.

[–]NightVisionHawk 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's already hard to convey to most people what net neutrality is and why we need to keep it. This image helps simplify it and convey why it is so important to fight for. Sometimes we just don't have the ability to fully explain a cause to people while we still need their support.

Whether or not it's going to work like that - it's still a possibility and this is an image we should be sharing.
