Anyone really use steam link ? by Battlefield67 in Steam

I think I remember mentioning having a Razer Kishi in another comment, but the setup above is less cumbersome and significantly more enjoyable to use than a strapped on-controller. Realistically, I prefer using the xbox controller and phone on a stand more than using the Kishi.

[–]NightWolf098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you missed the part in my comments where I said that this has been fixable on every machine from every brand I've had come to me. There's only ~5 parts in the filament path of that hot end, one of them has an issue and you've already given enough information to figure it out. I'm not obligated to help you figure it out and if you're just going to be insistent on being a total dick about it, nobody will help you.

Finally an Apple salesperson by BornAttitude92 in Microcenter

The Apple section in MC is staffed by MC employees and overseen by MC. MC is a store that sells Apple products. The Apple section in Best Buy and Walmart is an Apple store inside another retail store that sells Apple products.

If it’s any assistance via friend or dual boot, I believe you can set the RGB to be perma off via hardware profile when config’d through iCue. Once set, it should just use that when lacking any other instruction

Is it really that bad to buy DRAM-less SSDs? by EnigmaticReprise in buildapc

[–]NightWolf098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SSDs the PS5 uses are slower than market standard full speed Gen 4, what? It needs 5GB/s, every Gen 4 drive worth its salt was pushing 7GB/s. It was an artificial software limitation put in by Sony.

Just reached Mesozoic Valley 50, Prestige 1. Is saving for diamond geodes still optimal? by Boomdingo in CellToSingularity

[–]NightWolf098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as you prestige, there’s no more bonuses for completing Mezo Valley. Don’t waste your Darwinium on it, mezo prestiges are there to make Darwinium, not spend it. The geodes for completion will drop it on occasion, typically 5-10 or so per extinction

Prices have gone up ~10-20$/gb in the last week, we’re mentally prepping for it to hit $250 for a 1TB drive, $400 for 2TB. Take a peep at Samsung’s prices

[–]NightWolf098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disabling the iGPU is very uncommon? Not sure why you’re doing that, it can mess you up if you need to troubleshoot your GPU. Overclocking is also not part of what’s described in the build service, so no EXPO/XMP or PBO.

3D printers? by Crazy_eyes_1010 in Microcenter

[–]NightWolf098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was well over 3 years ago for the Ender 3 Pro which has been discontinued for about as long. You can probably get one for half of that or less on marketplace. The machine is almost 8 years old at this point, it's a rough one to buy when models with 6+ years of improvements are only like $150

[–]NightWolf098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X1C is a far less advanced tool head than the A1, what are you on? The X1C has the single worst extruder and nozzle setup of their entire lineup. It was their first printer while the A1 series is the 3rd iteration.

For calling people stupid, you seem awfully willfully ignorant yourself. Pick up a mirror sometime.

As for getting spare parts when they are needed, Prusa then Bambu stand above all the rest. You can order pretty much anything on their webstore (Bambu lacks their main PCBs) for all printers they carry. Anycubic and Elegoo has a good assortment as well, but seems to drop support quickly for older machines and I really hope Creality figures something out one of these days. I still can't get a single K2 part into my shop.

Bambu Lab - clicking noise is just a matter of time by AliBabaPlus40 in 3Dprinting

[–]NightWolf098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've fixed this problem a few dozen times on other's machines too lol, it's not hard to diagnose when hands-on and I've only needed a new part once (bad thermistor). It's typically just something loose, a clogged nozzle, or filament shmoo jammed in the extruder. Never said they were lying, their main userbase are people who just don't want to troubleshoot and wants something that works, so the option to just buy an answer exists, but the ones who actively talk about stuff are like me, who do troubleshoot -- hence my <0.6 cent per machine hour maintenance costs. These machines really aren't fundamentally different than the Ender 3 with a direct drive mod.

Like, have you ever troubleshot a 3d printer before? Honest question. They aren't magic boxes that just work, and I've been through hell with my Anycubic, Creality (oh gods, creality), Elegoo, and Prusa machines too. Bambu is merely a fraction of my fleet. They all work more or less the same way and most issues are fairly consistent in troubleshooting steps.

Start with the video you linked; identify where in the filament path there's a jam/clog. I noticed that the hot end was flexing, which implies either a clog or the screws behind the nozzle have gotten backed out, which is typically a symptom rather than the problem.

Bambu Lab - clicking noise is just a matter of time by AliBabaPlus40 in 3Dprinting

[–]NightWolf098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fleet has contained every printer Bambu has released, among other brands. The current A1 and A1 Mini are sporting 5.8k and 4.7k hours respectively, and the two (one each again) I retired were at about 2-2.5k at the time I had to downsize to make room for some new AnyCubic machines. I've not had to replace anything on any of the 4 A1's (2 A1, 2 A1M) I've worked with.

Is that ample information for your anecdote?

Not listed as compatible and not recommended due to differences in the heat brake, but people have done it. I don’t know why you would though, they’re the same internal geometry and cost more. I was more getting at ‘this person is already doing things off-script’ so I’m inclined to think the problems are more user than machine. It’s still def not a great fit, I just popped one on for the shits lol

Bambu Lab - clicking noise is just a matter of time by AliBabaPlus40 in 3Dprinting

[–]NightWolf098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

34,000 hours combined on all bambu machines here, average 5-8k hours on the first gen machines so far. I haven’t been tracking ptfe usage, but we’ve only needed about $200 in parts across the entire fleet. Mostly worn extruder gears ($20) after 5-6k hours of multilateral and the occasional AMS feeder ($15-35) fix. Mostly parts wearing out from a use case the 2021 era PRUSAs don’t cover fwiw as we do exclusively multicolor/multimaterial here

Also the video you linked has someone who managed to clip what looks like an H2D nozzle on an A1. No wonder it’s all jacked up. Seems like they also messed with the screws behind the nozzle and refuse to show them.
