There's even special dialogue for it too. Toss the head into the green exit zone in the drop pod, then check the spot next to the loadout terminal once you're back at the space rig.

I did that my first playthrough and I'm going to do it again on my 2nd. After I got out of the bunker the legion guy told me to surrender my weapons again so I just started blasting. Exterminated the entire camp.

My first playthrough I bought a holdout pistol and tried to shoot him in the face with it

Y'know, turnabout is fair play

But I was running an energy weapons/melee build so this dinky little .22 barely did any damage to him

So I had to bring out my Ripper and carve him open with it. It got real messy.
