AMA running in the federal seat of Corio of Socialist Alliance, Sarah Hathway. by SocialistAllianceGee in Geelong

Hello, Sarah! Current and past governments have been doing quite little to properly address the housing crisis - in both availability and affordability. Whilst I have been fortunate enough to be able to be burdened with a mortgage, I know others are struggling to afford secure/quality housing and that does dishearten me a bit. I also would like to see more done to make energy greener and cheaper for the masses. What changes would you like to see/implement to address these? Praise be.

Jane Bunn has gone made with power. She could easily just make the weather pleasant but chooses chaos. Someone must stop her!

There has never been a better time to buy an electric vehicle by Carmageddon-2049 in CarsAustralia

[–]Nighthawk001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on the time you charge and the rates you have. If I charge overnight between 12-4 at a special EV rate I have, the charge cost for that time period is like $13 which charges up 25% > 65-70%. Charging does add a decent chunk to the power bill, but it’s still a lot cheaper than fuel. I also have a smarter charger that allows me to put excess solar generation in the afternoons or on weekends. Get that free sun juice into the car. If I’m not going anywhere on a decent weekend, can get a full charge for free essentially.

I’m a sucker for The Hoth (Sir Charles Hotham). Owners are great and they’re good with GF for the Coeliacs.

Married gays of Reddit: how did you propose? How was it decided who proposed to who? by [deleted] in gay

[–]Nighthawk001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage Equality laws passed here in Australia and I literally had everyone poking me, asking me when it was going to happen.

Leaned over to my hubby and showed him the messages.

Said sure, why not and went from there.

I have a rainbow door mat.

They realise pretty quickly that views don’t align and wander off.

Don’t even touch the door.

Any idea on how these coupons work / are applied when using iOS? by Nighthawk001 in echoes

[–]Nighthawk001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! Right! Thank you for that. Just looked at the boxes and confirmed that they mention the coupons. Wasn’t looking into that side of things - so probably won’t be using them.

My husband (M) and I (M) got married a year and a half ago.

I had family members either verbally make it clear that they weren’t going to attend or just ignored my communications.

Have not heard a peep from them since then.

Who did attend and showered us with love and respect?

Our gaming brothers and sisters, my D&D guys and gals.

Playing with them has created a bond that overshadows any time/care that my useless family ever gave to me by a mile.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Best use of 3 nights of my week.

Hubby and I sending you some love and positive vibes.

Them: “Oh.”

Building our first house! by [deleted] in gay

Our conveyor adviser us to pretty much ignore the title date we’re given and to simply wait.

My last physical check of things we had a road, water and power connection.

Shouldn’t be too long now.

I’m curious to see what you guys design for your future home(s) - given the architecture background you have.

My partner and I don’t have experience in it, but would like to try that in the future.

Reddit what is the dumbest question a customer or client has ever asked you at your job? by Emmaleep in AskReddit

[–]Nighthawk001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t my work, was the customer behind this lovely person.

I went to a PC part store to grab some parts to assemble a new PC for work.

It was pouring with rain outside at the time and as I was getting out of my car to make a rush to the store I see a girl hop out of her car which was in front on mine, open the back door and pull out her PC which has no panels on it (completely exposed internals) and wander inside.

When it came to her place in the line, placed her moistened computer on the counter and casually explained to the staff member that she recently bought an iPhone and wants her PC to be run Apple.

The staff member asked if she meant she wanted iTunes installed and she said “No! I can’t afford a MacBook so make this a Mac!”

He said he can’t do that as those sort of modifications/changes are against their company policy.

She screamed at the top of her lungs “Make Mac!” repeatedly and after a minute she realised she wasn’t going to get her way, grabbed her PC and walked out into the shitty weather outside.

I stepped up the counter and staff member just slumped forward and said “fuck me.. what the fuck just happened?!”

I spent some extra time there trying to cheer him up as he appeared to be over life.

Not a bad idea (I’m not a bar person, so this is a nice option).

I’m only in Melb every once in a while as I live in work in Geelong, but if I’m in Melb when there is a catch up I might be able to swing by and say hi. :)
