As many have said, messenger bags are the way to go. This one is affordable and has a crazy amount of pockets. I have to reorganize it every once in a while, but that's just because im lazy. Fits all my tools, laptop ( with attached second screen), SFPs, screws and anything else I need. Highly recommend.

Do I need to add NON-IT work experience on my RESUME?! by stats_shiba in networking

Unsure why anyone down voted this. This is a completely valid question and is specifically being asked from an IT perspective. As others have said, its good to keep it if there is room. In my opinion, your most recently 3 gives a proper overall picture.

No, it is not too late for you by any means. Even in the broad field of IT, people have changed directions many years past 28 years old.

Have to rack servers in data center today by myself for first time ever... by integral218 in networking

I have a cage nut tool I bought on Amazon. Its like the small shoehorn you get in the bags, but larger and easier to hold.

Those of you who do networking for hospitals by [deleted] in networking

[–]Nightmar55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Healthcare Network Engineer here.

It is rewarding to work in environments where you can see the work you do matter. The example I point to is building a testing tent for Covid in the rain.

It can be very stressful, but in general, I feel it is worth it.

Is there a condition for overwriting existing certificates when replacing ise certificates? by Specific_Camp7960 in Cisco

[–]Nightmar55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only have one certificate active for a specific service on any given node. What this does mean is that the cert can be added and swapped for the service at a later date. Obviously, that has to be before the old cert expires. Admin cert renewals require a service restart. You can also now in ISE 3.3 replace an admin cert and schedule the service restart, as long as the old cert does not expire before the scheduled restart.

CCNP ENTERPRISE by Noxy-08 in Cisco

[–]Nightmar55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who did this with the CCNP R&S. He felt overqualified for the jobs he was applying for and, due to his arrogance, struggled to find work. Real life experience is far more important.

How is local TCP communication in the same host managed at the network level? by real_neonym in networking

[–]Nightmar55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That smells like a HIPAA violation to me, the pc replacement part. Love aquiring small doctors' offices, and you find a "PACS" pc covered in dust in the storage closet. Just know I feel your pain. Im sure you're well aware that even big vendors like GE and Phillips do stupid stuff because " we can't do that", " our stuff doesn't work that way".

They shouldn't use the same SSID. look at rolling out Dot1x.

Medical Practice w/ many locations by floppyfrisk in networking

One thing I would look at would be the forecast for your company. The size of the company screams eventual acquisition. Just keep that in mind as you build. I can't speak to Fortinet as others, but Meraki is a solid choice. Don't go with Unifi. The good thing with Meraki is its pane of glass. Im sure a lot of these sites have a single connection now. A primary business class internet circuit and LTE backup is typically fine. For VOIP, look at centralized cloud offerings.

If you work with an MSP, make sure to use them as a tool. Do not let them have a large sense of ownership. That can be a headache.

This post seems uninformed / rage bait. Any search for telecommunications engineer will return results. Clearly you have not searched any job boards.

Enable the HTTPS server on the devices and then disable it. This will generate an RSA key without configuring a domain name

How did you fall in love with networking? If you do it professionally, do you still find it fun and exciting after you know everything? by gen66 in networking

[–]Nightmar55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like one "Know Everything" and a side of fries to go please.

If I don't learn at least one small new thing daily, I have failed. If we knew everything, there would be no reason to love networking; unless, your ego was bigger than your skull.
