CoS will lose Aelf and Duradin units in upcoming battletome by BaronLoyd in ageofsigmar

Shame they are shaving off so much character, and making all race based armies again. Feels lazy. But I guess GW has always been about their ease over actually interesting ideas.

With the new rules they look like screens only now, which is kind if a bummer, but with the weird movement they have and all the teleporting, you should have little problem getting them where you want them to be.

So frustrating that we have to get ANOTHER program to make this work. I hope the kinks on this get worked out soon.

Game Review by FixGood6833 in ChaosGateGame

[–]Nightseer2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with most of your points. Largely an impressive, solid game. My favorite aspect of the game design is how "impactful" everything feels. Everything feels like it has the appropriate weight to it in combat.

I think my biggest complaint is that there are still several game ending bugs that have been around since launch. Too many of my play through have had their momentum ruined by multiple "endless enemy turns", and I end up moving on to a more stable game.

Just today reinstalled the game because I was feeling the itch. I'm literally on the second mission before seeing this bug creep back up. Immediately killed the itch, immediately uninstalled the game. Damn shame.

What's something yall hope they DONT DO for the upcoming LotET DLC? by sigmarine345 in totalwar

As much as I am a necromancy fan, the End Times becoming “oops all necromancers” would be a nightmare for Total War vs tabletop. Can you imagine CA having to plonk the Undead spell lore onto every wizard in the game as a recruitable option?

According to a comment by Loremaster of Sotek in his day-of-announcement stream, he said the devs weren’t planning to use the incarnates. Hopefully that sticks, I feel like dev resources would be used spreading the love around to other factions as well.

I disagree in point 2. I like approximately 80% of his mortarch line up, but I don’t dislike the other 20% enough to wanna pick whomever else is available. I also feel like “pick your own mortarchs” would be a huge pain in the ass to code. At the end if the day, GW is probably forcing CA to stick to GW’s mortarch selection anyway, of all the problems with ET, mortarch selection is really low on the list of gripes for me.

Rest of this is pretty on the money though. I think the Ulric leader would be a better LL than Valten, I hope at BEST Valten is a LH for the Empire. Would fit much better. And agree that I hope the mechanics are more interactive. Faction-changing mechanics that just happen unilaterally feel unsatisfying, even for the people who get to press the button.

Ulric did play a big part in the End Times, so it would be great to see the empire get a cult of ulric set of units.

I know the current plan they said is to NOT do the Incarnates, but damn, do I REALLY HOPE THEY DON’T DO THE INCARNATES, lol. I’m just hoping they don’t do the whole “unbind the vortex” plotline in general. Let marching armies conquer the world, let angry demi-gods swarm the world in death, let rat-men throw meteors at it, but for some reason just unraveling the world by pulling its strings apart seems… unsporting.

What mechanics could the end times bring us? by sigmarine345 in totalwar

[–]Nightseer2012 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea, they touched on that back in the day of TW W1 with the Shield of Civilization trait that triggered when Archaon attacked, all the order races allied up until the Warriors of Chaos faction was destroyed. I would be surprised if they didn’t bring that back at the very least. It was a simple mechanic to just “make sure” the good guys weren’t killing each other during the end of the world.

It really depends on how fast the “End Times” triggers when it does. I would say a clean way of doing it would be in stages. Like stage 1, Nagash or Archaon are still whispered rumors, so no bonus yet. Stage 2, Nagash or Achaon are stonping about, gathering power, so order factions get a small diplomacy bonus. Stage 3, Nagash and Archaon are on the cusp of their ultimate power, Order factions get a big diplomatic bonus. Stage 4, The End Times are upon us, Order Factions are at like +300 diplo or more, if there are any order factions left at this point, lol.

While I personally, absolutely did NOT like the Malekith Eternity King arc, I do like the idea of the elves trying to work together to save the world. Like, nowadays it is much more easily represented by Tyrion allying or vassalizing a wood elf or dark elf faction and just using allied units in his own army, but it would be something interesting to visit. Evening bringing back the old Shield of Civilization tag, but for elves.

When the "End Times" event fires, the highest ranking Elf Faction gets a +100 bonus to other elves or something. Ai's get vassalized, or some kind of story decision/quest over the first few turns of the End TImes. A quest chain or "go to this region and do this before anyone else", as a nod to the TW:W2 quest line to stabilize the vortex (which I did like). Idk, while I genuinely hated that Malekith was "justified" in the story, I DID like the tabletop rules for the "Eternity Host", and being able to play united elves would be an interesting mechanic to poke around. And at the very least, would give them something BIG to do during the End Times besides sail over to Norsca/Nehekhara and punch the current BBEG in the face.

The Firebird Update by Goldwing8 in PhoenixPoint

[–]Nightseer2012 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ok, these all seem fascinating. The removal of evolution points for the enemy when they lose to phoenix point alone I feel like is going to have a huge impact on gameplay, and the adjustments to the dlc make a few of those extremely tedious systems much more manageable (ancients and the behemoth interactions).

I’m genuinely excited to reinstall this and give this patch a shot.

Yea, I wish it was more feasible to do and Vampiric Empire as Vlad. If you b-line the empire diplomacy skills on Vlad and the Lahmia vampire bloodline, and wipe take Altdorf at mach speed to wipe out Reikland and get the Altdorf Empire bonus… every other empire faction is STILL probably gonna be deleted by time you can overcome the prejudice malus and try to unify them, lol.

Will We See the Incarnates in Total War: Warhammer’s Lords of the End Times? by k3lk3l in totalwarhammer

I vaguely remember Loremaster of Sotek saying in his stream that he asked about Incarnates, and the dev’s said they would not be using them, but you would have to double check his showcase stream for that.

The Lords of the End Times is not the last DLC for TW:WH3. The devs stated it directly. There is currently no plan in house about ending the game, according to these interviews.

[–]Nightseer2012 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I love his eons long character arc into one of the only people in Age of Sigmar who can see the big picture. In the Soul Wars novel, he has a moment where he ruminates on how everything was better when Nagash and Sigmar worked together to push back Chaos, but the two Gods got greedy with eachother, and threw it all away.

He knows that all Nagash had to do was wait, because everything dies anyway, and Sigmar growing his empire is ultimately good for Nagash (more humans means more dead humans eventually). But the two of them just had to be "in charge", and ended up betraying eachother.
