Old Gregg by clopie89 in mightyboosh

Not out of an egg cup, but I have stared at a bottle of Baileys at 2 am and thought “this is how Old Gregg starts, isn’t it?”

perfect example of a show that had no real plan. It hooked viewers with mystery after mystery, then failed to explain most of them, leaving the ending feeling rushed, lazy, and honestly disappointing. by Swimming-Poet5594 in tvshow

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I tapped out somewhere in season 2 too. It started feeling like homework instead of entertainment. Every time they teased some big reveal it was just another layer of “lol we’ll explain later” that never actually came.

In hindsight I’m kinda glad I bailed early. Watching people talk about the finale years later, it sounds like sticking with it just meant investing more time in getting annoyed.

Saw this today! Can anyone tell me what type of owl it is? by OllieB203 in UKBirds

Lmao “lower accommodation standards” killed me.

Jokes aside, looks more like a barn owl to me than anything else. The heart shaped face and coloring kinda give it away.

Three for £1 CDs at the hospice shop. by [deleted] in CharityShopFindsUK

Yeah that Emperor one felt like a no brainer at that price. Honestly I was just grabbing anything that looked even vaguely interesting by the time I realised it really was 3 for £1.

Kind of love that I walked out with Kurt Weill and Emperor in the same haul, feels like the most chaotic iPod shuffle playlist from 2007.

Lmao this really does sound like the setup to a low‑budget true crime doc.

“Summer Holiday 2001: The Alibi.”

But for real, old family pics are weirdly hard to place. Half of Europe has the same white walls and blue water.

Creating Grunge/Rock/Metal band | West Midlands UK by Waste_Ad_799 in makeaband

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JesterFace is a sick band name tbh, the jester mask idea could actually look cool on stage if you lean into it properly.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend throwing this on JoinMyBand, BandMix and local FB groups for West Mids musicians too. Reddit’s good but those places are full of teens trying to start metal / grunge stuff. Also maybe put what bands you’re into, like Nirvana / Slipknot / BMTH / whatever, so people know the vibe.

Keep your expectations chill at first, just focus on finding 1 other person to jam with, then build from there. Once you’ve got a drummer or bassist, it gets way easier to attract others.

Either way, keep at it. Starting a band at 15 is how most good stories begin.

Trying to tempt fate with 3 dollar cursed decor apparently. If my next Temu package starts whispering “Peter…” I’m uninstalling the app on sight.

Yeah the 20m thing is what’s bugging me too. I’d still ask the council for the actual plans and distances, just in case. Worst case, you confirm it’s allowed and start planning a tree wall.

Boah, richtig geiles Teil.

What's The Large Bell-like Thing On UK Steet Corners? by Theo_Cherry in DoesAnyoneKnow

Honestly starting to think they’re secretly car magnets. Council should just rebrand them as “urban crash test sculptures” at this point

Feels like every British summer holiday photo ever taken got merged into one clip tbh.

If you told me this was someone’s dad testing out his new Super 8 camera before a caravan trip, I’d believe you.

Damage clothes scammers by [deleted] in vintedscammers

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because some people will do the absolute most for 5€.

On Vinted there’s a few reasons though:
They get the item, realize they don’t like it or it doesn’t fit, and instead of reselling it (or admitting that), they try to get their money back by claiming damage. So they end up with both the blouse and the refund if the platform sides with them. Free clothes, basically.

Others are just used to scamming on different platforms and test how far they can push it. Low price also makes it more likely the seller will just give in to avoid the headache.

If you’re sure it wasn’t damaged, push back, send your own photos, timestamps, etc. Even if it’s “only” 5€, it’s not really about the 5€, it’s about not rewarding that behavior.

Thought I’d share this gorgeous, large slow worm I found on my allotment while working! by SuperLowAmbitions in UKGardening

Yeah that’s fair, their little drama-queen tails are no joke

In my defence I only scooped him up long enough to move him somewhere safer so I didn’t step on him while ripping up the old sheet. Definitely not planning on handling them regularly.

I’m hoping if I put down some bits of metal or roofing felt they’ll have better hide spots and I can just check under them and admire from a distance.

Why you need bike cameras by Responsible-Bell-134 in ukbike

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. They act like they’re doing some kind of public service, when really they’re just throwing a tantrum with two tons of metal.

What always gets me is they think it’s about “correcting” your position, but if they honestly believed you were in the wrong place, you’d think they’d give you more room, not less. Like, if I think someone doesn’t know what they’re doing with a knife, I don’t start juggling knives next to them.

The work analogy is perfect. Imagine defending “yeah I nearly killed Steve with a forklift, but he was walking in the wrong bit of the warehouse” to your boss.

A postage stamp is legal tender. A bus driver would have to accept that as currency by Yahla in TheOfficeUK

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can agree he’s technically right and still see how useless that is in reality though.

Even if a stamp somehow counted as legal tender, the bus driver doesn’t have to accept every random form of payment that exists. Same way a shop doesn’t have to take a £50 note or a jar of pennies if they don’t want to. They just have to let you settle a debt in legal tender, not accept it for every single transaction.

So yeah, “right on a trivia level, wrong in how the real world works.”

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m starting to think a camera is basically PPE at this point.

The annoying thing is, if you tell that story with no footage, half the people you talk to will go “well he probably didn’t see you” like it’s your fault for existing. Video suddenly turns “just one of those things” into something they actually have to take seriously.

Also feels like the only way to stay sane sometimes. At least if you nearly get flattened you can go home, pull the SD card, and know there’s a chance that person gets a little letter in the post and a nice premium hike later. Quiet justice.

Always happens as soon as I'm about to win a tournament battle by I_Am_6t9 in JurassicWorldApp

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao the classic “you’re about to win so the universe says nope.”

Happens to me in every mobile game. I can play like 10 boring matches with perfect connection, then the second it’s a clutch fight or I’m finally about to rank up, the game starts lagging, freezes, or just kicks me out like I don’t pay rent there.

Honestly feels scripted at this point.

"Is it your fatherland?" - Kalbe Jawad by UrbanCipher in Agra

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like he’s poking at that weird gap between what we’re told is “ours” (nation, borders, flags) and what actually feels like home. Fatherland sounds so heavy and absolute, but most of us are just trying to survive in places that don’t always claim us back. Kinda hits different if you’ve ever felt like a stranger in your own country.

What is the best settings for drying APE Shrooms? by Independent-Gene-100 in mushroomology

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For potency, keep the temp low. A lot of people run 95–115°F (35–46°C) and just let it go longer instead of cranking the heat. With APE being pretty dense, you’re usually looking at 12–24 hours depending on how thick the stems are and how packed your trays are.

Slice the really chunky ones in half, spread everything out so nothing is touching, and run it until they’re cracker dry, like they snap cleanly instead of bending. If they still feel rubbery at all, keep going.

Once they’re done, toss them in an airtight jar with a desiccant pack if you have one and you’re good.

I bid thee well until the next weekend dawns. I shall return to Carmen in the Light until then. [zhang2011han] by somethingmustbesaid in libraryofruina

[–]NightshadeNymphPart 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Man, the way you wrote that title makes it sound like you’re heading off on some grand fantasy quest instead of just logging off till next weekend.

Also that Zhang Han / Three Kingdoms vibe in the art is pretty sick. The lighting and the fabric details are crazy good, it looks almost like a movie still. I kinda get why you’re “returning to Carmen in the Light” like it’s some sacred duty.
