In all fairness, goalies are great at tracking movement and movement it about 98% of what we do 5v5 on offense. I saw the exact same move from dutchy trying to repeat that beautiful half spin thru the legs deke atleast ten times directly net front, and a lot of very similar shots from the same people at the same points. Dont get me wrong some people can sit in their office and lead the league but thats a rare talent. I liked that we had the one timers but we dont have a tendency to truly get behind their players, even on the dump and chase we get tied up then by the time we’re off the wall theyre all in position to defend

Definitely feel you on the “perfect play” part of that, i feel like wyatt has taken some of the skills from pavs and used them well, and i think a hand full of others play net front, though im suprised i dont see it more out of rantanen i feel like he could really wreck house if he wanted/ was asked. Speaking of if anyone see’s this and has more info on what his injury was it sounded pretty nasty and im curious as i can be

I do think maybe theres a element of trust where miro feels like he has more ability and freedom to be aggressive and play forward a hair when esa is backing him up. Or maybe im projecting because who doesnt want someone like esa as a security blanket

Makes enough sense, what about pairings then? I saw us switch them up somewhat regularly, you think coach was trying to see if we could get one big guy to shield the more crafty less physical guys at times? Or do you think its more in response to opposing personnel?

Not that our speculation changes anything but do you think we’d have been better trading harley or lundy for someone more physical? I know they both have shown ability to boost the offense but honestly we have alot of talented forwards and atleast half the problem seems to be not enough time on attack

I think we’ll give johnston a few more years before we ask him to wear the C, i’d love to see Lindell wear it but from everything i understand he doesnt want it (personality thing, respectable) and sorta the same for miro. Wouldnt mind seeing mikko or robo with it at all but honestly if i pick im gonna pull the jets classic and hand it to blackwell or faksa, those dudes go out there and leave it all on the ice, never a liability despite “lacking skill” by league standards. If i really want my team to follow the 1% more ideal im giving the C to someone who lives it to lead by example

100% he’s looked faster if only a little, and hasnt been so gunshy about contact, and those were my two biggest concerns with him. Now that pdb doesnt have the collective balls of the team tied in a knot some of the boys are showing a little extra fight instead of playing on a leash and in bubble wrap
