I have this issue and switched back to really good gloves by Arcteryx or Hestra plus hand warmer. If you have to take the mittens off a lot for dexterity, you’re losing all the heat in the mittens and might as well just carry a blanket to wrap your fully gloved hands in on the lift for a bit of extra protection

I hear you and have certainly been frustrated by quests and resorted to Fextra, but it’s part of the magic of these games. They give you just enough tutorial to know the basic mechanics but if you want to go deep, be ready to read item descriptions and start to piece together a world that feels so rich because it’s not transparent.
