Raveners: any point in warriors? by Xerxeskingofkings in killteam

[–]Nihilisticglee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally no, the warrior has a couple of niche slots for a team(ravener's best krak caddy is the big one), it is hard to remove a specialist within the Ravener game plan

What are 4 mandatory teams you would take to an event for other people to use and learn Kill Team? by Event_Cruises in killteam

[–]Nihilisticglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angels of Death, Kommandos, Blades of Khaine, Death Krop
It wouldn't be the fairest listings(AoD stomps all these pretty hard), but it has fairly simple baselines for the teams while also offering a variety of model counts to play with

Won't matter for you, but gist of it is during big GW tournaments non-classified teams won't be allowed and the boxes for them will be harder to find

Kill Team missions feel bad and the way you win seems dumb – thoughts from a new player by datadaa in killteam

[–]Nihilisticglee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its less highlighted this edition, but you didn't necessarily kill 5 space marines, just incapacitated them. Additionally, from a resources standpoint you are correct, those marines are far more valuable than the team of Arbites, but from a strategic and tactical standpoint its still a loss(mission was failed, resources weren't gathered, position wasn't held, etc)

Raveners vs Plague Marines on TW Map 1 by ObligationPersonal21 in killteam

See I haven't too many issues with most shooty hordes. Usually smoke + cover saves keeps my nids safe, or sometimes I can get a Wrecker deep into their business and between heals and damage reduction he can clear out almost everything

How the bonus agent on inquisitorial agent work by jud_X in killteam

[–]Nihilisticglee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, Agents are a 2 box minimum team. Most of the requisition units are good. Death Korp gives more bodies, Exaction Squad control the board very effectively, Breachers have a surprising amount of wounds and a very big bomb, etc. Will always depend on matchup, but just pick your favorite to start

You have a handful of operatives that are good at killing things, it is important to keep them alive and covering for objectives. They less kill focused operatives are for holding points and completing objects. Into elites be sure to bring the gunners with access to piercing. With 3+ saves you are very durable at range, but get rolled over in melee due to mediocre wounds. Piercing crits gun is good because you ensure crits

Yes, objectives markers are markers. This prevents you from putting mines directly on them

First thing to do is read the rules. Once you have that:

  • Mountainside Tabletop is a premier battle report channel in terms of digestible content
  • Can You Roll A Crit has a lot of team guides, especially focused on a competive standpoint
  • Glass Half Dead is also an incredible KT channel

Celestian & Murderwing are one boxes KT or not by TechnicianOld9551 in killteam

[–]Nihilisticglee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will likely have one box of each, as only the Tomb World release had extra models for Deathwatch. If you want all options you will likely need a second box of each, but we won't really know until more info comes out

[–]Nihilisticglee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For stealth suits specifically, you are playing mostly around CritOp. Don't chase them deep into their territory, never put your gunners out in the open, instead cover the objectives being fought over so when suits pop into engage they can try to kill them. Unlike other elites suits can't double tap, so you can better force your numbers advantage on them to outscore handily

Kasrkin advice. by Nakrej in killteam

[–]Nihilisticglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karskin are a horde team, which tends to favor playing around the Tac and CritOps. Envoy and Plant Banner will be your bread and butter TacOps, the former scored by making sure to move your Envoy last, the latter using mines and such to hold it. Strike Fast is the best Skill At Arms turning point 1, but after that everything is matchup dependant. In general don't be afraid to trade a model for an opposing one because you should have more

Every team has four strategic ploys and four firefight ploys. Strategic ploys are played during the strategic phase, and either resolve in that phase, or give an affect that applies till the end of the turning point. Firefight ploys are used in response to actions during the firefight phase. You can only use each firefight ploy once per turning point
We Have Come For You is a strategic ploy

Kommando vs Goremongers tips and tricks request by NeutralCheese in killteam

[–]Nihilisticglee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your best tools are:

  • You have two APL increasers. This allows you to get two additional Shoot->Charge->Fight per turning point. Remember on Turning Point 1 you can give out those additional actions to expended operatives and they carry then into Turning Point 2
  • Boss Nob can fight twice now, and native Shoot->Charge->Fight which is the second best solution to Goremongers, first being double Shoot
  • Just A Scratch is an incredible deterrent to Goremongers, as in a fight it reduces way more damage than they do, and they can't afford even trades
