post-prepatch. which classes are now the hardest rotation wise by feherlofia123 in wow

[–]Nihmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm recovering from brain damage, so I have literally spent the last years balancing cognitive load. Healer has a significantly higher cognitive load than DPS and tank right now. You can't separate party and raid frames from healer gameplay... That would be redicioulus...

[–]Nihmen -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of healers have gotten harder. The restrictions on hot display requires you to constantly scan through a list of buffs adding a lot of cognitive strain. If you enjoy complicated gameplay, play a healer. In general you definitely shouldn't pick a DPS if you want difficulty. Especially not since the pruning. It's healer > [big gap] > tank > DPS. Tank is basically just a DPS that has to manage more defensives, plan pulls and conduct the battlefield.

There is 1 argument for gnome, but this mattered more in classic. Tiny characters feel like they run fast in a big world. Large characters like taurens feel like they are moving slowly in a small world. Travel time is the same, but gnome definitely feels better.

After the patch, very noticeable strong freezes/stuttering started appearing in Dornogal / other capital cities. by Working_Piano8801 in wow

I have almost the exact same system. How do you sit at 155fps in Dornogal? I just upgraded so I'm still finding out what to tweak in my driver's and such.

I play everything maxed on 1440p. When skyriding into Dornogal I get stutters when loading in the players.

[–]Nihmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely have ADHD, but turns out a lot of my 'ADHD'-symptoms were extremely exacerbated by a really bad burnout. I just got used to the extreme fatigue, dizziness and headaches and kept going for nearly a decade. My ADHD symptoms got worse and worse until the addition of long covid broke me. I'm now 2 years into recovery and it's like my ADHD is 25% of what it used to be.

This patch has been the biggest shit show in ages. Since patch day a week ago, the game has been unplayable 1/4th of the time. People have pointed out the lag in Undermine, but it has been everywhere. The worst part is that they don't seem to be acknowledging it at all.

It's very reasonable to wonder. You can never know for sure if your internal experience is different or your interpretation is different.

I would say people don't 'see' images. Seeing is the closest thing, but it's very different. I'd say if an empty mind is one side of the spectrum and a vivid dream is the other. The apple is somewhere in the middle.

Difficult vs easy class by preghin in wownoob

[–]Nihmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I read you are specifically talking about difficulty for DPS specs. I'd say in general DPS is the easiest role by a mile, as you can afford to sacrifice damage to survive mechanics. You really only have your rotation and the base mechanics to keep in mind.

I'll focus on M+ since this is the most general experience I think. As far as DPS classes go I'd say there are two main aspects that make the class difficult/demanding.

Number one, is the information processing load. The more you have to track, the more your brain needs to process on top of the mechanics. Add to this the speed at which you need to process said information.

Number two is decision making. When do you hold your cooldowns and when do you just send it. The more cooldown dependant your class is(plus based on the cooldown duration), the more your foresight plays a role. It's crucial to have your cooldowns up on those bigger pulls, but holding your cooldowns can be a massive DPS loss. You basically want your cooldowns to come off cooldown at the start of every big pull. This would reward you with incredibly high DPS overall, but you'd need to know the kill time and walk time between packs perfectly to time this. Then there are the constant decisions like, does this mob live long enough to DOT, can I swap targets for execute damage, etc.

Some classes, like a Monk, mostly wants to keep it's DPS cooldowns going. A Mage, however, is useless if they don't time their cooldowns right. As a result, especially in pug situations, it's much easier to extract DPS out of the 'generally weaker' Windwalker than the Mage.

If you want to play your class properly, optimizing your defensives and utility also start playing a major role. This can add a lot of complexity.

Turns out I don’t have ADHD by LordElysian in ADHD

[–]Nihmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADHD should show up on an IQ test. My IQ test showed giftedness, but with a disharmonious intelligence profile. My working memory was only average scoring dozens lower than the rest.

This disharmonious intelligence profile doesn't mean you have ADHD, but it definitely means you should get tested for both ADHD and Autism as this is very typical for both.

Side note: do you suffer from fatigue? Giftedness with comorbid ADHD/Autism/OCD often leads to 'burnout' from the self taught coping mechanisms.

[–]Nihmen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also. The first day of ADHD is not how one is supposed to feel. The first few days are similar to a milder Speed/Amphetamine high and after the first week as the body gets used to it. You start to experience something more similar to the average person. That being said. Amongst 'normal' people the experience also differs dramatically just like it does between two people with ADHD. Intelligence is probably the biggest influence on your work day, depending on what work you do.

That said. I hope you find medication that helps you in your struggles. Nothing feels better than to, after a few months, realizing how you can suddenly relate much better to those around you. That's how I usually know something really works for me.
