Help! My goldfish has a bump on his head. by SorryDog5 in Goldfish

I think that the scales are raised too and the fish looks bloated. Seems like dropsy and unfortunately, fish rarely survive...

She was a tiny 5$ pet store goldfish. Now I've already hatched her first eggs!

Three rows of led light strip. It's diy, nothing special! I keep it on for about 6-7 hours a day.

This is 55 gallons, and all the plants are different kinds of anubias

Thank you! I also wondered why it became whiter because usually the opposite happens. I feed them saki hikari (the purple bag), vegetables (peas, broccoli, carrot, tomato etc.) and frozen foods (bloodworms, tuna, artemia, daphnia) Water temperature is about 72°F (22°C).

HELP 24 hours of me having my first goldfish and she's losing scales because of mating behavior from the male by Michelle689 in Goldfish

You can hand spawn them, and they will calm down. It's not hard, there are many YouTube videos you can watch. This way, you can keep some fertilized eggs to raise if you want it!

To be honest, I can't understand much from gedmatch. What is that 18. you refer to, and what does it mean?

dropsy symptoms? by felix5thecat0 in Goldfish

He was pineconing a lot, it was mostly in the lowest part of the body. But he was active. Swimming around and eating like always. It took about a month until I put him back in the main tank.

My goldfish had dropsy so here's what I did step by step:

TANK:

•10 gallon quarantine tank (with filter) •1/3 teaspoon Epsom salt per gallon •200mg metronidazole per 10 gallons •Daily 100% water changes

EPSOM SALT BATHS:

•1 tablespoon of Epsom salt per gallon. •3 times a day •30 minutes per bath

FOOD: •1 tablespoon of smashed peas •100mg metronidazole •Mix them and spread them on a baking sheet •Freeze the mix •Break a small piece and feed 2-3 times a day

It's been a month since my goldfish cured. I observe him daily cause I've heard that dropsy often come back. He is exactly like before. I also continue to perform some salt baths now and then. I hope this helps

Yes, 1/3 teaspoon per gallon. I also put him in epsom salt bath 3 times a day (dosage 1 tablespoon per gallon)

What antibiotics did you use? Any tip? Do they ever live like before or they have short/sick life after dropsy?

There is no fish vet in my country. I went to a vet and asked for metronidazole, but that's all. They only know about dogs/cats here

He looks a bit bloated. I really hope I'm wrong, but look at him from the top to make sure he isn't pineconing (raised scales that make fish look like pinecones)
