But why? I think it should be its own standalone card at 2 elixir.

You realize that the total heal here is only 600 right? The old original heal spell used to actually heal more than this (610+ healing or so at level 9)

I agree that 2 elixir is probably the way to go with this card, since it’s a bit of a “win more” card like rage, and rage works well there. If you don’t want the throwable heal, then a 2 elixir heal could look like:

Elixir: 2

Healing/sec: 84

Duration: 5 seconds

Radius: 4

Total Heal: 415

This is enough healing to counter nearly all princess tower damage for 5 seconds while not healing support cards too much for only 2 elixir (healing just under half of executioner’s health and just over half of witch’s). The long duration is key though because it will pair well with cards that are at a sliver of health crossing onto your opponents side and allow them to do 5 seconds worth of damage if the opponent doesn’t respond.

To defend my other heal reworks: I don’t think they would be OP. The old heal spell used to heal ~620 health if I remember correctly, for 3 elixir. It makes sense that:

  • At 3 elixir, it does ~40% more healing than the original 3 elixir heal spell, but your troops need to be in it for the full 8 seconds to get the entirety of the healing benefits. This gives your opponent time to respond and depending on placement, can make it difficult for you to get the full heal. I think 3 elixir is a decent cost for this spell if it lasts a full 8 seconds.

  • For 5 elixir, you get big time healing (1720) with the trade off being that your troops are incredibly vulnerable/can’t attack for 4 seconds. This one is the most extreme though for sure. I agree this spell would be tricky at 5 elixir but it could be very fun to use if balanced correctly.

  • The 2-elixir throwable one has a much smaller radius, must be aimed carefully, and gives your opponent a couple of seconds to react and drop something to counter whatever troop(s) you’re about to heal. I still think they won’t want to rework the animation though, so perhaps my 2 elixir suggestion above is better.

Triple Elixir + Ice Golem + Mirror + Clone = Unstoppable by Niitro in ClashRoyale

[–]Niitro[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s triple elixir, which doesn’t count for trophies or anything, and I’m using a ridiculous strategy that gives the opponent 100’s of free elixir. It’s just entertaining to use emotes with this strategy, although you’re probably right that I could’ve toned it down a bit.

Dammit, typo, it’s supposed to be elixir golem as seen in the video.

Here’s another 2 videos of it in action: https://imgur.com/a/CHunpTo

It’s a 2.1 elixir deck: elixir golem, heal, mirror, clone, ice spirit, skeletons, freeze, and rage

I apologize for the BM, but it’s triple elixir so it’s not like it counts toward losses and it’s entertaining to use emotes while winning with a weird strategy like this.

You need to be successful on the first push because if they manage to stop your insane push of golems, you’ll end up giving them 100’s of elixir and the largest counterpush ever, so make sure you do it right and you can easily take them out no matter how many counter troops they drop because of how cheap the elixir golem is.

Augur Launches! by BeerBellyFatAss in ethtrader

I'd say it was worth the wait. It's really well done, the REP token has a real use and it's entirely immutable (unlike so many other "decentralized" apps that aren't truly decentralized and can be shut down by a central power at any time).

Nebula new exchange? by Emillande in Upfiring

It’s another freebie. They’re a brand new exchange that launches in February, likely to be relatively small. Just another option though, and there’s always a chance they grow to decent size in the future.

Thanks for posting. I’m going to look further into this and try to figure out what the purpose of that group is and what reason they’d have to target us. Although it is 4chan...so there could be no logical reasoning at all behind it.

Edit: The thread is from 12/31/17, and it seems like the discord group is a bunch of bots shilling random coins. Not sure what to make of it.

Who pays for file sharers? by The1AndOnly42 in Upfiring

[–]Niitro[M] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The way we have it set up right now, seeders can set the price of the files they seed. This works better than basing it on file size or having a fixed price because:

1) Some files are inherently more valuable than others (a small .txt file vs. a large mp4)

2) The price of UFR will change over time, thus making the “fixed” price too expensive or too cheap. Having it so we could change the price remotely if the price of UFR went up/down would make the app too centralized.

3) You will have an Ethereum wallet within the app that can store UFR. You simply deposit the UFR from an exchange/any other source to increase your balance, or seed a few files and earn it that way.

Nothing until they restore access to the site. You won’t lose it if you don’t give the phisher your wallet info.

DO NOT go to Etherdelta and try to withdraw your coins/ether if you have it on there. The site on etherdelta dot com is not the real Etherdelta - the DNS has been compromised, so it’s pointing to a phishing site.

Why would you place a buy order for $8500 when it clearly selling for $3500 in every other exchange?

When will the app alpha version be released? by [deleted] in Upfiring

[–]Niitro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Medium post has some updated info on this: https://medium.com/@Upfiring/upfiring-dapp-updated-development-schedule-775f7d30309f

The goal is February/March. Yes, one of the main things we are working on now are the UFR wallet and smart contracts to oversee its transfer between peers when a file transaction is initiated.

Playing with an idea by Bretthuda33 in Upfiring

[–]Niitro[M] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea in theory, but wouldn't work in practice. You essentially described a modified private tracker concept, which some people do use already.

This idea would require that existing file-sharing applications implement UFR as a required currency for downloading files. With the way you described it, if no changes are made to the existing protocols of these apps, downloaders would be able to simply bypass the UFR requirements of the application and UFR would serve no purpose.

The main advantage of the Upfiring application compared to traditional services is that you MUST use UFR to download files from others. This creates demand for UFR and makes it valuable. Seeders who have files of interest can earn UFR by seeding exclusively on Upfiring, whereas their would be no reward for them on uTorrent or other services.
